Guest guest
Namaste all family: Here is Swami's response about the meaning of Asuras. Namaste Manjushri, Dev comes from the root - div, to shine. The devas are the shining ones. Suras is another name for the Gods. Asuras refers to the opposite of shining. It means bound by attachment. The devas are forces of unity. Asuras are forces of individuality. , " misra_manjusha " <misra_manjusha wrote: > > Dear family, > Namaste! > Although I am not writing regularly, I am an avid reader of the > discussions on this web site. > I have heard the term Asuras being mentioned a couple of times, by Maa > to Vish (half jokingly) and more recently in the story narrated by > Swamiji about Tulsi and the relevance of the conch in a path. > Who are the Asuras? Guest guest
Thanks Vish, it's very kind of you to take our questions to Swamiji. And Thank You Swamiji for the explicit explanation. So Asuras would be the Dark Forces. Is there any geographical/historical connotation? Or do we all have both the shining and dark forces within us? Guest guest
Namaste Dan, What you have written is very interesting!!!! So he did mention geographic regions!!! And your question - please let me know if you get a response. There are deep philosophical differences in different geographical regions. How interesting it would be to know more. What do Vishnu's 3 steps symbolise? Helloooo Vish! can you help again. Please ask Swamiji for some more details!!! And for an answer to Dan's question.
