Guest guest
Namaste all: As you all tune into the live broadcast of all night Shivaratri celebration at the Devi Mandir, www.shreemaa.org, you will observe 4 Shiva pujas being performed at each of the lingums inside the Temple. Each time, one offering is offered. The first puja will be performed about 5PM, and only milk will be offered. The there will be kirten. The 2nd puja will be performed about 9PM and only yogurt will be offered. Then the 1000 names of Shiva will be chanted at the homa. The 3rd puja at midnight and only ghee is offered. The Rudrastadhyayi will be chanted at the fire. The last puja at 3AM and only honey will be offered. Then aarti will be performed, and all will break their fast with prasad Maa and other devotees have prepared. In between the pujas devotees typically chant Shiva's mantra at the homa. Typically devotees fast, no eating and drinking, for the entire day and night until the breaking of the fast. Of course if your health does not permit, one can eat fruit or whatever is needed. Hope all can join in this celebration. Jai Maa Jai Shiva Jai Swami vishweshwar
