Shivaratri remembered

Namaste all family: Many devotees came to the Devi Mandir for

Shivaratri and stayed throughout the night, even though the rains

were very heavy at times. It was inspiring to realize the effort that

so many devotees made to come and worship Shiva. In spite of many

obstacles they came and offered their best.

As I witnessed the acts of devotion at the Shiva lingums during the

many Shiva pujas, I saw many loving and devoted people bowing to

Shiva. One thought arose in my mind several times: if only we could

offer the same love and devotion to our spouses, children, and family

that we offer to Shiva, how quickly this world would change. Offering

5 minutes a week to our spouse, giving them total attention, total

focus, total love, how we would all change for the better.

I will carry the smiles and love of the many devotees who prayed with

me at the Mandir, and I will continue to pray that each of us takes

the love and peace from Shiva, and passes it onto those we love and

cherish in this world.

Also, I wish to thank Maa and Swami and the devoted Devi Mandir Family

for working so hard to create a wonderful place to come and worship.

Their countless hours of seva and worship allow us all to come and

experience the wonder of Shiva.

Jai Maa Jai Swami

Namaste all family

One of my memories of this Shivaratri is that of a devotee dressed in

yellow raincoat, standing at Napeshwar in the pouring rain throughout

the night helping fellow devotees perform the 4 pujas. He cleaned up the

deity at the end of the physically tiring day, but he must have been in

swimming in Shiva's grace.

He didn't let a little rain or lack of sleep get in the way of doing

seva, and doing worship.

You did the right thing Vish, and your actions spoke loud and clear.

Thank you for the reminder.

Jai Shiva
