Today was the full moon in the month of Falgun - the day we celebrate the Holi festival. As a child i remember we used to get up early and rush to wear DIRTY clothes! Yes, not nice ones -- because we then played with colors and wet water balloons! Later when everybody was totally dirty and completely unrecognizable it was time to eat sweets and snacks and sing songs! In our neighborhood, they would give prizes to children for singing, poetry and public speaking -- the funny thing was we had to go up in front of all the parents and friends in our dirty clothes with dirty faces -- and sing beautiful songs! It was very joyful! It seems funny now - but then it was natural! That was Holi! We learnt in school that the message of Holi - is we are all the same, there is no different based on income, age, caste etc -- Everyone plays together and looks crazy - and laughs together! :) Shree Maa said that as we put color, Lord Krishna will bless us and take away difficulties and disease. That is Her blessing for all of us. May God's blessings be upon all of us - as we move forward with our hearts filled with the color of God's love and our lips dancing to the tune of His sweet name!
