Guest guest
Namaste Everybody! On popular demand - here is part 2 of story that Shree Maa has said for all of us! If you missed part 1 - it is an end of this message Ok -- Recap: Main actors in story are old lady who can barely see and hobbles with walking stick and 5 year old boy. So... the two of them were happily enjoying each others' company and love! Then one day the old lady thought " I am keeping all the money offerings in this little pot. My hut does not even have a door. What if a thief comes and steals all this money? I should give it to the " Seth " for safe keeping. " Background Note: In olden days in the villages in India, there were some rich merchants who acted as bankers for the common man. They were notorious for their high lending rates - but the poor had no recourse but to keep their money with them. So the old lady hobbled to the nearby little town and went to the Seth's store. There she showed her pot of money and a servant in the store counted it all and wrote down her name and told her they would keep it safely. Reassured, she picked up her walking stick and made her way back home. Time rolled by and one day the little boy got fever. He was lying in the arms of the old lady and she did not know what to do. She thought " If i could take him to a doctor, they may give some medicine and help him. " " But, " she thought, " I have no money to pay the doctor. All my money is in the Seth's store. I better go get the money from there. " So she walked back painstakingly again to the store. There she met the owner of the store (the Seth) and told him that she had given some money for safekeeping and she wanted it back today. The owner did not recogize her. As luck would have it, the servant who took the money from her, was not present at that time. The lady looked so old and tired and unkempt, the Seth did not believe she had any money. He told her to stop lying and had her forcibly thrown out of the shop. She was distraught, she walked back to her hut -- to see the little boy with high temperature lying all alone and helpless. " What can i do now? " She thought full of anguish. .................................to be continued........ , " kamalaji_india " <kamalaji_india wrote: > > Please, Ramya, give us the " rest of the story " . There was a 5 year old boy who used to come then. Even though she could barely see, somehow she made rotis (chappatis) for herself and the little boy. The little boy used to call her " Maa " . They never talked about who she was, who he was -- they were just there together, sharing the simple meal and love! > > > > Story....to be continued..... > > > > If you like it so far, let me know if you know the ending, please DO NOT write it > > > > with love and laughter! > > > > Jai Maa! > > >
