Dear ramya ~ what food for thought! This is an excellent question to, as you say, churn.When I have experienced Pure Love, I have been in the non-differentiated state of Being. There is nothing there except Beingness. After I have had this kind of experience, believe me when I say there is nothing like it, and it is very hard to describe, but when I emerge from this experience I feel an expandedness of my own Being; I feel wholely innocent and open; I feel joy; I feel peace; I feel belongness; I feel purely and unconditionally loved.

Yet when I think about it, Pure Love holds no - thing and every - thing. Pure Love holds duality with tenderness and also opens the void through which, by entering the cave of the heart, we are One with this undefinable mystery. We become containers of no-thing and every-thing and all is One and all is Whole.

Here is a prayer, which for me defines Pure Love:

om purnamdah purnamidam

purnat purnamudaacyate

purnasya purnamadaya

purnam eva vasisyate

om santih santih shantih

That is the while, this is the whole;

from the whole, the whole becomes manifest;

taking away from the whole, the whole remains.

om peace, peace, peace

I "feel" and "recite" this as the whole being Pure Love. We could not get away from it if we tried, though our tricky minds can provide an illusion of being "other," outcast, unloved, judged, etc. This is only the drama of the ego. If I, even for only one second, step out of the lila, I am already There/Here, and there is no separation between me and Pure Love.

Believe me when I say, this experience is not something I have often, but because I have experienced it periodically throughout my life, I have survived many circumstances like an abusive childhood, struggling to work and make ends meet, getting caught up in my own, or someone else's lila. And yet, the lila is also contained within Pure Love. Feeling this enables us to dance the lila without being caught up in the illusion.

Jai Maa Jai Swamiji
