Guest guest
Question from Henny:Namaste Swamiji,In the viniyoga of Episode One of the Chandi it says that the meter is Gayatri, yet when I count the syllables of chapter One I always seem to get 32 syllables to the verse. Also, looking for Usnik in the second Episode, I found it in the hymn in Chapter 4 (and also the hymn in Chapter 11), but the narrative again has 32 syllables. So, it seems to me, the meter mentioned in the viniyoga is not necessarily the meter the text is written in. Would you please explain the meaning of the different chandahs and their application?thank you very much for your time and consideration, with love,HennySwamiji's response:Yes, Henny, Gayatri is the meter of the morning, of beginnings; ushnik is the mid-day or circumstances; anushtup is of evening, of the culmination. So we have the beginning, middle and end. There is a much more thorough discussion of this in the classes. Pay particular attention to class number one.Jai Maa! Guest guest
Thank you, Swamiji! Forgive me, even after having read the transcript of class number one again, I still don't understand why, if Gayatri is the meter of the first Episode, the text of Chapter One seems to have 32 syllables to the verse instead of 24. Maybe I am counting wrong. I will watch the other Chandi classes and find out, with love, Henny , " Nanda " <chandimaakijai wrote: > > Question from Henny: > Namaste Swamiji, > In the viniyoga of Episode One of the Chandi it says that the meter is > Gayatri, yet when I count the syllables of chapter One I always seem to > get 32 syllables to the verse.
