I read Sri Devi Bhagavatam and I enjoyed it. But after reading I became sad and disappointed for one thing. My question is WHY MAA CREATED THIS WHOLE DRAMA/UNIVERSE/HUMANS/YUGAS/ AND ABOVE ALL MAYA. Why MAA WANTED TO CREATE THIS MAYA? Can Brahma Vishnu Maheshwar answer? I read in Devi Mahatyam that even these three great Lords chant Maya Sakthi. Can any human, any king, any Rushi, any lord revealed the secret of this Maya. Everywhere we all praised the Maa because she saves us from problems and we love her but no body argued with her. We call someone mother when she gives birth. Our Mother gave birth to entire universe. Our Mother Durga / Chamundeshwari are everything for us. If I ask my mother why she gave birth to me then she says that she got married and she want be happy with her children. But our main mother Maya sakthi/Durga/Chamunda gave birth to entire creation. Is it just for her happiness? Just to see our mother happy are we all praying to her. Well, it's true. However, how far it is ethical to create such a creation with her Maya sakthi and asking everyone to praise her. No doubt we all are slaves to her. I love to be because there is no other way to lead our life's happily. My question is what is she going to get by all these things? Just happiness...I doubt is she independent or not. I doubt is she not sadistic by creating and demolishing. Why to create this body and why death? Why to give wealth and why to take it back? Why to give happiness and why not only happiness. Why to give choice if Good and bad? Why not only good. Why to create this many yugas. Why not always Satya Yuga? Why to disappoint us with this many questions? Why did she create us? What provoked her to create this all universe? I am a devotee of Maa so kindly do not misunderstand or curse me for this question. Kindly provide your beautiful views. However, the reality is that we exist and the universe exists.. though we do not know much about either. We pray to our Creator to help us understand the purpose of our existence. I think that if you read the Devi Bhagvatam a little more deeply and pray and think about your question a little more and ask Maa to give you an answer, I am sure you will receive the answer. One is that if we had all good and happiness all the time we would not even recogize it as being good without the less good and the bad to compare it to. There would be no reason to do anything and we would quickly merge back into Goddess/Brahman. But Maa wanted to play and see us play with Her. It is all play, that is the only satisfactory answer. She allows us as individual manifestations of Her power and Her consciousness to go out into the universe (which is all Her too!) to play and get results both good and bad. And then we can go back to Her so She can have us with Her forever. The universe is not such a serious thing to Her as it is to us. The more we can absorb Her attitude the more peaceful and accepting we will be. Then fear and anxiety and anger will be gone. This is the only answer that I can accept. It takes a lifetime or many to absorb it completely and I have far to go. Some people (like Shree Maa) know it from their birth. Jai Shree Maa and Swamiji! Jai Ma Kali! Jai Shiva! I did discuss this question with a world well known Christian pastor in his crystal cathedral church discussion forms. I asked them why Jesus did not kill Satan. Then he said " Jesus wants his people to choose him with " " free will " " . Jesus wanted to give a choice to people so that people can differentiate Good from Bad and hence he did not kill Satan. However I kept on asking them why did he do such a drama? is it just for recognition?. Then their reply was very similar to your reply. They said God only can answer my question and they don't have answer in Bible. I did discuss with an Islamic priest and with a Jain priest about same question. They provided the same answer that you have provided. They don't have an answer. Hence I feel all religions stop at this question. Hence I feel all religions are same and there is no difference. I think it is only one feeling and existing in different forms. It is one God existing in different forms. It is same breath of Maa flowing in different bodies. Thanks, Kishore.
