Guest guest
I am continuing to study the Chandi and I read about how all the Gods combined their energies together and the Goddess manifested and then they all gave Her their weapons. This raises a doubt. Is Mother nothing but the combined energies of the Gods (or the Devotees)? You say in your interpretation that wherever we put our energies of devotion together Mother is given strength to fight the asuras. Does this mean She has no independent existence? Many people in the European pagan traditions that I studied have an idea like that in which the gods disappear unless the worshippers keep them alive. This would make Mother limited and puppet-like. How can She really be the Supreme if that is so? How can I resolve this? If this question has been asked before, please forgive me. Jai Maa, Jai Swamiji! Guest guest
Namaste Kumari Thank you for your beautiful and thought provoking question! I am sure Swamiji will give us all a great understanding - so thank you for asking! In my understanding -- Mother is everything, within and without! She is ALL existence -- both independent, dependent...and everything in between!!! In the first chapter of the Chandi, The King asks the Rishi about who is Mother and how does She manifest and what are Her qualities -- In reply, the Rishi says - She is eternal and all existence -- but sometimes we can see Her manifestation in special circumstances when the devas are in need. We feel Her manifested existence - within us - and around us -- when we pull together our divine qualities - She manifests in our lives as beauty, love, compassion -- She helps us to rise above our asuric tendencies (anger, greed....etc..etc). She is within us - but is She also not also everywhere? -- as beauty, love and all that is pure and divine everywhere -- all the time!!! Just thinking about this is a sublime blessing! Thank you for the blessing Kumari! with love and prayers, ramya , " mjfisher2005 " <mjfisher2005 wrote: > > I am continuing to study the Chandi and I read about how all the Gods combined their energies together and the Goddess manifested and then they all gave Her their weapons. > > This raises a doubt.
