Beloved Family,

Swamiji asked us all to come back to the Chandi this navaratri!

Maa and Swamiji will be chanting 9 Chandis each (i.e. one Chandi Path each day

of the Navaratri).

Swamiji said that we can take a sankalpa to chant Chandi too -- as many as we

like. Let us report whenever we do one Chandi path this navaratri on this

group. At the end of the Navaratri, we want to have a GROUP TOTAL of 108

Chandis! :)

In other words, our sankalpa for the Navaratri is to do 108 Chandis as a group!

You can take a sankalpa (vow of worship) to chant the entire chandi or the

seedha Path (this is the 13 chapters and a few additional passages which we do

every Sunday). If you have any questions, please write back.

May Divine Mother guide us to worship Her in the most beautiful and pure way

this navaratri - and always!

Jai Maa!!!

I'm wondering what would count as a Chandi chanting for this sankalpa. I have

only been studying the Chandi for a little over a month and I can't chant very

well yet but I really enjoy following Swamiji and Shree Maa on Sundays and on

audio recording. If I sat for an entire Chandi with them in one of those ways,

could that count toward the total? Or should I be chanting the entire thing on

my own?

Thanks!

Jai Maa! Jai Swamiji!

Happy Navaratri!

Dear Ramya,

Is this Seedha Path included in the Chandi Path book?

I am afraid that I am still quite slow, partially because I am reading the

Sanskrit, the English and watching Swamiji's class. I am on the ninth chapter

now. I want to make sure I understand the meanings as much as I am capable of

doing. This is my samkalpa at the moment, along with doing puja. Know that I

am chanting along with you all and praying that Divine Mother blesses you all in

uncountable ways. By Fall Navaratri I should be chanting faster!

Jai Maa! Jai Swamiji!

If you chant along with Maa and Swamiji on sunday, it will count towards the

total.

Also, Maa and Swamiji always advice us to start from where we are and take

little steps. You can chant the Chandi - chapter by chapter or whatever portions

you feel comfortable. In the past, we have chanted the Chandi once over the

course of the 9 days (e.g. chapter 1 one day, chapter 2 next day etc). So you

can do something like that -- if you like!

You can start wherever you feel comfortable and join in the spirit of the

celebration of Divine Mother in your life!

Happy Navaratri! :)

I have completed chapter 13 reading along with Swamiji's class. I started the

classes before Navaratri, so it is up to you whether it will count for the 108

recitations. I will go on with the Navarni Viddhi, etc., so I will not be able

to recite it again this Navaratri. I am getting so much just from this, that I

feel very blessed and happy.

Jai Maa! Jai Swamiji!

I am pleased to inform you that I have completed one Chandi sankalpa today. As

easy it may sound, it was difficult for me, but I am more than happy that I

could do it this Navaratri.

Many thanks for the encourgement by the Devi Mandir members,

Jai Maa.
