Ambika and all-feelings during sadhana

Namaste Dear Sister Ambika: when too much and too little are pulling me, and my

head is spinning, and all I want to do is get up from my asan and watch TV, I

try to remember Swami's key advice: it is our privilege to worship. Not a

another task on our " to do " list.

I also find that if I do some hatha yoga prior to my chanting, etc., it is much

easier to settle into the rhythm of worship.

But the most valuable technique for me is pranayama with the verses or japa. As

in our group Chandi, I chant 2 verses to the breath. If doing japa, I chant the

mantra 1 time while inhaling, hold for 4 reps, then exhale- 2 reps of the

mantra, with eyes closed.

Once I get into that flow and am breathing in and out deeply, the mental dross

begins to break up, and too much and too little get into balance.

If all else fails, I pray to Maa to give me the strength to complete my

sankalpa.

But you know what the bottom line is? Everytime I complete my worship, I feel

better. Doesn't matter what I feel while doing it, {sometimes great, sometimes

not great}, I always feel better when it is complete.

Jai Maa Jai Swami

devotion, He will come.

meditating, whatever, and my mind is not in the right place. It is only

concerned with doing what needs to be done.

to take too big of a lunch and get a belly ache. this one rule has helped me

tremenedously! part of sadhana is getting to know myself and my situations and

circumstances and from there knowing what is feasable and what i am am capable

of. and every day this changes and grows. this is the first navaratri i am able

to sit and complete the chandi in one sitting where i know i wont be

very?drained and frusturated. ?every other time i did what was feasable where i

wouldnt create an inner struggle for myself about completing a task that is

inconcievable. surely that is one of the asuras in the chandi. ma loves one

mantra just as much as she loves the complete chandi, or 3 mantras, or 14

mantras. i believe as swamiji and the chandi both say, that as long as?we are

doing with sincere devotion then she accepts our offering. it is THAT we are

doing, not how and what we are doing which is of true importance.
