Is milk abhishekam a cruel practice in this modern age?

Dear Devotees,

Last year during Navaratri I had a vision of suffering cows as I poured the milk

over the Divine Mother murti in our temple. Since then I have stopped offering

milk. I even wrote an article to suggest that Hindus stop offering milk from

milk bought from standard dairy farms. I would like opinions from other devotees

and so I am posting the article. Please let me know why the sacred substance of

milk maintains its purity or why you think that tamasic energy from the

suffering cows is transferred to the murti.
