Guest guest
Dear Rosetta I have been privileged to know Swamiji for a few years now (he will say " in THIS lifetime " ) and I am completely convinced that he is always right. He is a VERY smart person and will ONLY do what is the most intelligent, most efficient and that which will yield maximum benefit for all concerned. And He has dedicated his entire life to Chandi. And He asks us to chant the Chandi. And he tells us that it is one of the single smart moves that we could ever make in this life. " CHANT THE CHANDI " , he shouts from the rooftop. " But " , we say " what about ... ? Will it really ..? I am no good... Is this enough ? Is there anything else I can do ? .... " and we go on and on ... Let me say, in my life, I have chanted the Chandi off and on for around 7 years now.... and I KNOW how my mind is when I chant versus when I DONT chant the Chandi. It is not so much as whether my prarabha karma changes or not, but the fact that I feel supremely equipped to deal with whatever comes my way when I chant the Chandi - whether the entire book or few pages at a time. And this is from a person who puts little efforts , but RICHLY rewarded for even those mediocre attempts. Recently I was blessed by a visit from Maa and Swamiji after a surgery, and one of the few things that Maa and Swamiji asked were " Are you chanting the Chandi? Even if you cannot chant aloud, chant silently " ... To which Swamiji added " Many sadhus have a pact to keep the Chandi chant going on at all times of the day. It is SUCH an important scripture " I rest my case. Jai CHANDI Nanda , " rosaroja24 " <rosaroja24 wrote: > > Is it possible to burn up prarabda karma through prayer and such things as chanting Chandi Path? And, is it possible to change negative personality traits through the same means, or are we always continually struggling with the same personal weaknesses and issues -- just trying to keep them under control through sadhana? I'm asking these questions as an average person trying to fit in an hour or two of spiritual practice a day, not as a spiritual super-achiever aiming at total liberation (although I have great respect for those who are doing that). > > Thanks for any responses, > > Rosetta >

Guest guest
Dear Nanda: Thank you for taking time to reply to my question (and thanks also to everyone else who replied) . . . okay, back to Chandi Path now (and also wanted to thank you for your transcriptions of Swamiji's classes on the Chandi -- this helps very much with understanding).
