Guest guest
Dear Nanda and all ~ I wanted to provide the verse number of the passage that is my favorite, but there was none ... the only part of the Chandi without verse numbers. It is actually the last few verses of the "sapta sloki durga" My favorite section actually begins a few verses before the peace verses. It begins with "Om The Mother of Enlightenment pervades the heavens," then goes on to include "the atmosphere," and " the Mother and Father and child." One of my favorite sentences in the entire Chandi is contained within these final verses: "You are the word of praise by which we are singing; you are all creation existing as the mouth of the universe." (It gives me chills just to write it.) My other favorite is part of Chapter 5, beginning with verse 9: "We bow to the Divine Goddess in all existence," and then goes on to name all the aspects of the Goddess for which we vow. I love the rythmical cadance of the end of these verses: "namastasyai, namastasyai, namastasyai, namo namah." I haven't picked up the Chandi in a while, and now it is calling my name, and so I will begin again ~ Linda In a message dated 8/17/2009 3:33:02 A.M.
