Namaste Dear family,Continuing from my visit dairy :We commenced each day of Navaratri with group satsangh at 4.30 a.m. where we sang devotional songs to Goddess Mother and offered Arati just before 5.00 a.m. At 6:30 am, there was group Chandi Homa.It was really a beautiful opportunity and blessing to be able to recite the Chandi Path every day. During the 5:00-6:30AM break, we would have a hot cup of Chai and return to the temple for our personal pujas or sit and meditate while swamiji chanted the cosmic puja at the fire. It was a joy to receive Maa's daily blessing as She entered the temple, "good morning everybody" and then stopped to enquire after her children as She made her WAY to Her altar for Shiva puja. There was also a group sankalpa japa where we took turns everyday for the 10 days to offer with masala a minimum of 100 malas of Navarna Mantra at the homa. All this was with the encouragement and blessings of our Beloved Gurujis. At Shree Maa's request, teaching/discussion sessions were also held daily where the Sadhus/Sadhikas presented topics and shared the inspiration they'd received from Beloved Shree Maa and Swamiji with the retreatants. The sessions were extremely informative as we were able to ask personal questions and get a hands-on-understanding of many issues related to sadhana and spiritual life. Over the period we discussed topics such as - The Nyasas and their power in the bodyThe purpose and reasons for performing sadhanaWorshipping and meditating on the nine forms of Durga during NavaratriBasic SanskritAstrology – how to use it in our spiritual lifeGuru – relationship between Guru and disciple, and what is surrender to the Guru? The Parivrajik Pilgrimage Process, and how it teaches us to become a witness to the dramas of life, both inside and outside of us.To be continued ..............Jai Maa jai Swamiji

Namaste Kalia,

thank you for these posts, greatly appreciated! I have tuned in via webcam from

time to time, mostly when the temple was all quiet at night (due to the time

difference), and sometimes for the Chandi in the morning, but as the connection

always gets broken off after five minutes or so, I could not quite follow. But I

have completed the Navarna mantra sankalpa, and being able to see the

beautifully illuminated altar at night and Shree Maa and Swami and all of you at

different times of the day helped to feel a part of it all,

with love,

Henny

Namaste Surya and Henny,

Thanks so much for your inspiration.

Congrats Henny on completion of the Sankalpa. I do experience the breaks

in connection but i try to continue to the best i am able and many times

have been able to be just at the right spot when the connection is back,

it all depends on the breathing and level of concentration.

The altar is really beautiful via the webcam but to physically enter the

temple and behold the altar is astounding. It is as if the Gods and

Goddesses are dancing in divine bliss, really awesome. It is my pray

that somehow all of the members of the forum will at one time or another

be able to visit and experience the peace and tranquility of the Devi

Mandir.

Love,

Kalia
