I would like to know a few things about mantra siddhi during eclipse...it is said that temples are kept closed during eclipse. Then how come jaap is allowed and do we light diya agarbatti and put naivaidya before god as usual during the jaap in this time? Swamiji's response:A wonderful opportunity to perform japa. You will not want to eat aany food during the eclipse. You will want to take a bath or shower after its completion. We can offer diya, dhup, along with japa, but no naivaidya.
