Guest guest
Question from Kumari:I have read that when you were unable to have a fire that you offered puffed rice into a red cloth and then gave the rice to the birds or children. I live in an apartment and therefore cannot have fire, cannot toss the unburnt remains to the birds and have no one I can give them to. There is quite a bit of of grain or masala left after a fire sacrifice. Can I use raw grain in the ritual and is it permissable to use that in cooking after I have offered it as a sort of prasad? I would love to make offerings in a Chandi homa, but I am prevented by this problem. Many pranams to you and Shree Maa.Swamiji's response:Yes, you can use the extra offerings as prasad, either cooked or uncooked.
