'The Gods saw that great collection of light like a blazing mountain that

pervaded all the directions with its flames.

There was nothing to compare with this light that emanated from the bodies of

all the Gods, and after collecting into one, it assumed a feminine form whose

illumination was apparent throughout the three worlds. "

(Chandi Path, Chapter 2, vs.12f.)

" A big, big light came to me from Mother Annapurna's statue and I lost external

consciousness. It felt so beautiful inside me. I was with Mother and She was

telling me, " We are One! " We were completely connected. It was so beautiful! "

(Living with the Soul, p.177)

" She has thousands of heads, thousands of eyes, and thousands of feet as well.

She radiates the illumination of ten million Suns and ten million flashes of

lightning. When the Gods beheld that terrifying appearance, their hearts were

agitated, and they began to utter cries of consternation. Their hearts trembled

and they became unconscious. The memory fled from them that this is the Mother

of the Universe. Then the Vedas filled the four directions with their great

manifestation. Bestowing knowledge upon the Gods, from unconsciousness they were

made conscious. Then the entire heavens were filled with the excellent sounds of

worship performed with the tears of love completely filling their eyes, and

their throats choked with feelings. With streams of tears flowing, those voices

uttered songs of prayer. "

(Devi Gita, Ch.5, vs.37-42)
