Guest guest
Dear friends, I don't understand the gramatical form 'dhyAyed' in the Chandi Chapter 4 meditation. How is it constructed, is is from the verb 'dhyai'? I know it is only a detail, but sometimes understanding details helps a lot in overcoming other hurdles. Any help would be greatly appreciated, with love, Henny
Guest guest
Dear Henny, I believe it is an optative 3rd person singular form of dyai - to meditate, meaning "one should meditate" or "one ought to meditate." Usually when a verb ends in -et or -ed that's whats indicated. I saw this form also in the Rama Raksa Stotram hymn for protection meditation also.
