Guest guest
Dear Members, One yogamag group has put in it's site some bloopers(horrible mistakes on Datta and his information) http://www.yogamag.net/archives/1998/1jan98/dattatre.shtml Please see this link. This says that Atri went to prostitutes. This is totally wrong. Atri the father of Dattareya was a man of great moral charecter and the story is the husband of Sati sumati. Please refrain from going to such websites which want to make quick money and write rubbish. Yours yogically, Shreeram Balijepalli ps: I will inform the website owner about such misinformation but Iam sure they wont do any thing. Purity, Powers, Parabrahmam... Guest guest
Dear Nirajaji, Anasuya Sati Anasuya was the wife of sage Atri. Pleasing Bhagavan Shiva with a formidable penance she got Bhagavan Dattatreya as her son. During the period of his exile Bhagavan Rama went ( along with Lakshman and Sita ) to the hermitage of Rishi Atri where Anasuya brought great joy to Sita with her hospitality and taught her the duties of a woman and fidelity to one's husband. Once Rishi Mandavya cursed ( gave sapa ) to a woman(sati sumati) to become widow with the rise of Sun It is sati sumati's husband who went to prostitutes and that is a big story. Sati sumathi with the power of her pativratya prevented the Sun from rising. The gods and Rishis went into the refuge of Sati Anasuya(mother of dattareya) and supplicated her to remove the scare to which the world had been put because of the Sun not rising. Sati Anasuya got a boon from them to let the husband of the cursed woman resuscitate ( become alive again ) after his death due to curse — thus removing the effect of curse on the distressed woman that way defended her(sati sumati's) good fortune of having a husband and then alone let the Sun rise. ATriMaharshi: Atrimaharshi was equivalent to a brahmarishi and some say he was even a brahma rishi. He was agentle and a very pious man. He did great penances and got the trinity as his son(dattareya as the vishnu amsa, durvasa as the shiva amsa and soma as the brahma amsa) he had so much of varchas(divine light in his body) and tejas (spiritual shine in the body) that people shaked before his very presence. He was the dear father of Lord Dattareya and Datta has lot of respect for his father. Anasuya is his wife and these rishis and anasuya are still said to roam about on earth and other planes. They are millions of years old. If Anasuya mata reads such stuff or knows about such stuff(though they dont bother much about what happens in kaliyuga as there is sarva anachara---all types of evil and malpractices) SHE HAS THE CAPACITY TO EVEN CREATE A MAHAPRALAYA IN ANGER WITH HER PAATIVRATHYA. The intention of the webpage owner would have been to tell Sati sumathi and her husband's story but he got the facts confused resulting in the big blooper. It is like saying Ravan killed Rama and saved seetha. Even this is ok as people know the story but poor Atrimaharshi has none to support him these days so I just pointed it out. I emailed the sole email ID they have provided in their contact link and pointed out the mistake. But till now there has been no response or change in the webpage so I thought let me atleast warn my group members not to go to that site. They need not apologise to me or give me a reply let them atleast change the misinformation in the web page and lead people into darkness. Already people in kaliyuga are suffering heavily and turn toward divinity for help and it is people like them who make these people turn acerbic toward God! May Rajarajeshwaree devi and Lord Dattareya bless them too and show them the correct path . I have nothing against them personally. In fact I do not know even them at all. I just happened to see accidentally that site when my friend was browsing the computer with me. Yours yogically, Shreeram Balijepalli Smarthrugaami-Dattavibhavam , " Niraj v.
