Girinar-A powerful kshetra of Lord Dattatreya for his prathyaksha/paroksha Darshan

GIRINAR – A POWERFUL DATTA KSHETRA TO GET PRATHYAKSHA DARSHAN OF LORD DATTATREYA Dear Divine Members of the Group! Pranams! Jai Girinaari…Jai Girinaari…… Jai

Girinaari….are the powerful words which can hear by any one who tries to climb the Girinar shikhar even in the present days also. Girinar is a powerful Datta shakti kshetra and some sadhaks are telling that it is another “MAANASA SAROVARA” and every devotee should climb the shikhar atleast once during their life time. Girinar Hill is a famous sidhA kshetra of Lord Dattatreya. Lord Dattatreya performed penance at the top of the hill and one have to climb 10,000 (ten thousand) steps to have Datta paduka darshan.Girinar place is completely surrounded by fully forest area. Lions,

Tigers and other animals are moving on the roads of Girinar even in the day time also. A very pleasant atmosphere can be experienced by each and every visitor to this powerful kshetra. I am trying to place this Datta kshetra photographs just like a real view before our eyes. Have the darshan of Datta padukas to get permission of Girinar yaatra. Where is this Girinar? Girinar is in the state of Gujarath and is nearer to Junagadh ( district head quarter). Junagadh is nearer to Rajkot. One of the dwadasha jyothirlinga SOMANATH kshetra is very nearer to this Junagadh. Importance of Girinar Kshetra: Lord Dattatreya in his direct form was performed penance at this Girinar hills and many sadhkas and devotees are getting powerful blessings of Lord Dattatreya at this kshetra. One can see the footprints of Lord Dattatreya at the top of the hill and sadhus are performing the pujas at this place. At a down of 150 steps from the top of the Dattaparvath, there we can see Kamandal kund. “Datta Dhun” and Nitya Annadana is still running at this place. Really it is a great thing of performing Nitya annadana scheme at this place. Route and conveyance to Girinar: From Chennai/Vijayawada: From Chennai/Vijayawada to Ahmedabad, there is a train NAVJEEVAN express and one can getdown at Ahmedabad to go to Rajkot. There are link trains from Ahmedabad to Rajkot/Junagadh and private travel buses are also available in addition to Gujarath state transport corporation buses. From Junagadh to Girinar, regular service autos/city buses are available with a journey of only 20 to 30 minutes. From Hyderabad: From Hyderabad, there is a tri-weekly superfast express namely “RAJKOT” express directly from Hyderabad to Rajkot. The train starts from Hyderabad at afternoon 2.00 pm (approx) and will reaches Rajkot in the next day night at around 9.00 p.m. From there one can take the bus to reach Girinar as mentioned above. In addition to above information one can take the journey through flights from Chennai/Hyderabad/Bangalore/Mumbai etc., to reach Rajkot/Ahmedabad. Accomodation facilities at Girinar: Choultries and Dharmashaalas are available with reasonable prices at the foot step of Girinar hills. No proper food is available at Girinar hills. One have to make their own arrangements for food. However normal breakfast/tiffins and fruits are available at higher cost. Famous hotels/Restaurants/Lodges are available at Junagadh. The details of Girinar Kshetra: A total of 10,000 steps have to climb by any one to reach the Datta parvath. One have to start in the morning at about 5.00 am and a minimum of 5 to 7 hours will take to reach the top of the hill depending upon the activeness of the person. DOLLY facilities are arranged by the Gujart government and they are charging from 2500 rupees to 5000

rupees depending upon the person’s weight. JAIN PARVATH: After climb of about 2 miles, one could see a Digamabara Jain temple and a cave called Rajulmati cave.. Besdies this there are footprints of kundkund acharaya. In the temple, the idol of bhagwan Neminatha (Vikram 1924) is on the main vedi. One could see a marvelous temple of bhagwan Neminatha and 9 beautiful Swetamabar temples built by Shri Vastupal-Tejpal; Samarat Kumarpal; Minister Sajjan and others. AMBA PARVATH: After reaching 3000 steps, one can see the Amba parvath and can have the darshan of Amba. Somany devotees are in the practice of dropping their aim to reach Datta parvath at this point due to their inability to climb and due to the steep height of the

steps. Gorakhnath Parvath: After reaching 7000 steps, one can have the darshan of Gorakhnath who is one of the Navanaths who comes under Natha tradition of Datta maarga. He performed penance there and one can see the foot prints of Gorakhnath here. Datta parvath: After reaching 10000 steps, one can have the darshan of Lord Dattatreya padukas. one marble idol of Lord Dattatreya was placed at the back of the Datta padukas. It is somewhat difficult to have this paduka darshan by climbing all these steps. But whoever chant datta mantra “DIGambara digambara shree pada vallabha digambara” or Hariom tatsat jaigurudatta or atleast datta..datta…datta.. during the entire period of climbing, then it is easy to reach the top of the hill. There are many experiences to many devotees at this Girinar that Lord Dattatreya is giving his darshan to the devotees who are having full faith on him. It is true that Datta is giving his darshan in any one of the following forms as per shaashtra.
