Guest guest
Dear Murali Mohan Garu, You have asked me if I belong to Dattatreya Sampradaya. I should say here that I do not belong to Dattatreya Sampradaya but can say to an extent His Guru Parampara.(This is because there is nothing called " Dattatreya srividya sampradaya in the first place!) I might have used accidentally the word Sampradaya and parampara synonymously somehwere, I apologize for the same.I did not want to go into too much technicalities and bamboozle people with psuedo- intellectualism. However, since you have pointed out and asked me(presumably knowing what is what) I would say that.... Sampradayas are only three(major ones as far as my knowledge of texts goes..there might be a few more, I might not be aware of too) 1. Dakshinamurthi 2. Anandabhairava 3. Hayagreeva Dattatreya is one of the 16 Mahoupasakas of Srividya(some say total of 32 great upasakas) and thus forms the Guruparampara. Just a clarification....lest some one lambast me on technical grounds. Ultimately it is not sampradaya that counts but " sampradahana " (how much you are willing to " sacrifice " ) for your chosen deity that counts. Also, according to Tadepalli Shastrygaru, The Upasyas for Srividya Moksha Shastra can be approached in 5 different ways 1.lalitA, 2.mahAtripurasundarI 3.rAjarAjeshwarI 4.parA bhattArikA and 5. Sadaakhyam So, you can guess that my Upasaya is Rajarajeshwari. Ultimately all the five Upasayas lead to the same goal and are one and the same. Also, we follow the Parasurama Kalpataru more. Hope this point is clarified. Please ask for further clarifications with Swami Rajagopala of Nanganallur(my Upasana Guru). Sarvam Eshwaree Preranaa!
