Dear Members, In continuation series of "Shree Datta Yoga Rahashyam", already the information relates to YAM AND NIYAMA were uploaded and now, we are trying to know the information about AASANA in the yoga marga of Dattatreya. The Yoga rahasya was explained by Lord Dattatreya to Sankriti and one can be seen this Yoga Rahashya concept from ‘JABALA DARSOPANISHAD”. AASANAS Sankriti! There are nine types of yogic poses (Asans): Svastikasan, Gomukhasan, Padmasan, Virasan, Singhasan, Muktasan, Bhadrasan, Mayurasan and Sukhasan. Svastikasana: Putting both feet between the opposite thigh and leg and keeping the head, neck and body in a straight position is Svastikasan which should be practiced regularly. Gomukhasana: Putting the right heel on the back of the left side and left heel on the back of the right side is called Gomukhasan. Padmasana: Putting the feet on opposite thighs and holding the toes from backside is called Padmasan. This Asan cures all types of ailments. VEERASANA: Putting the left foot on the right thigh and sitting in erect position is called Virasan. SINGHASANA: Sitting on legs by putting the heels on two sides of Sivani (area between the anus and the genitals) under the testicles and putting the hands on both knees with fingers spread out, the mouth opened with tongue spread out and eyes fixed on the front part of the nose is

called Singhasan. BHADRASANA: Sitting on legs by putting the heels on two sides of Sivani under the testicles and holding tightly to backside and the feat is called Bhadrasan. This

Asan pacifies the ailment created by toxins in the body. MUKTASANA: Pressing the Sivani by left heel and putting the right heel over the left is

called Muktasan. Putting the left heel above the genitals and right heel over the left is also called Muktasan MAYURASANA: Putting the palms on the ground and pressing the stomach by elbows on both sides of navel and then balancing the body in horizontal position is called Mayurasan which destroyed all kinds of sins. SUKHASANA: In whatever position one can sit comfortably and patiently is called Sukhasan. Those who are physically weak for other Asans should take recourse to this Asan. PRANAAYAAMA: Whosoever masters these Asans, he can control the three worlds. Therefore, Sankriti, you should always do Pranayam in these positions (Asans).
