Guest guest
the following is a very interesting small section of the book " Kali's Odiyya " . I found the premise of the message to be very powerful, powerful enough that I thought it beared worth sharing with the group: from page 186: " Yogaha chitta vritti nirodhaha " = Yoga is the sublimation of the modification of consciousness, but not the supression or destruction of the mind. Stillness is the nature of consciousness. Leave it alone and it will still itself. If you try to force it to stillness, you will only agitate it. ************** Personally speaking, i can give you an immediate real world application to the above theory. Think of driving a car. If that car goes into a skid, the more you attempt to outmanuever the skid - the greater and stronger the skid becomes (unless you have the wherewithal to turn " into " the skid). However, if you release the wheel (which i find A LOT easier to do then trying to remember - in a moment of panic - to turn into the skid) - then amazingly enough, the car will straighten itself out - that has worked on three separate occasions for me.
