Palace Complex Most of the original buildings and many Palace records are now no more due to the periodic havoc played upon them by flood and fires (mostly coinciding with similar mishaps at Sabarimala!) . Yet a few still remain which could have witnessed the divine presence of Lord Ayyappa Himself. Pandalam has two palace complexes now: one around the Valiya koikkal Temple and other around the Kaipuzha Temple. The Valiya koikkal temple is on the left bank

of the river Achenkoil and the Kaipuzha temple, about 200 meters down the river on the right bank( by road the distance between the two is around 1 k.m.) Achenkoil River Devotees during Sabarimala pilgrimage come to Pandalam to worship at various places within the Palace complex , the important among them being Manikantan Aalthara Thevarapuras - Prayer Rooms - (a) Nalukettu (b) Vadakkekottaram Srampical palace (Thiruvabharanam) Valiya koikkal temple Kaipuzha temple Puthenkoikkal Mannadi Bhagavathy Pathinettampadi. General Guidelines Pandalam is a small town on the main central (MC) road, connecting Trivandrum and Kottayam. It is 104 km. north of Trivandrum and 50 km. south of Kottayam. The district head quarter town of Pathanamthitta is 15 km east of Pandalam. The nearest railway station is Chengannur, about 15 km. north of Pandalam. Kottarakkara(30 km.) and Punalur(34 km.) are convenient railway stations on the Maduari-Quilon section. Pandalam is well connected to all important places in the state through the KSRTC (State) buses. There is also a network of both KSRTC and private buses connecting the neighboring towns Pathanamthitta , Adoor(10 km.), Aranmula(10 km.), Erumeli (52 km.) etc. Taxi and auto rickshaw are available in plenty in the town. Facilities such as banks, hospitals, petrol kiosk etc. are within the reach of the temple. The Palace complex is less than a kilo meter from the

town WITH WARM REGARDS Roshni Dubey
