Guest guest
Hello All, Has any Gem Collector in our forum, seen a Panjshir Emerald. If yes, then what are its typical characteristics (as to in what way it is different a Columbian Emerald). Also what should be a reasonable ask for a 3 carat Jyotish Quality (85% clean) from this origin.. If any member collector is stocking a Emerald from Panjshir, please inform... Guest guest
Panjshir emerald are mostly junk. And even 85% clean is most probably 50% clean but oiled. As for price...quality of color and clarity determine price regardless of origin. Here are some to compare http://bkkgemstones.com/panshir-emerald-c-122.html Y/s, Richard sacred-objects , Abhishek Dutta <benarsibabu wrote: > > Hello All, > > Has any Gem Collector in our forum, seen a Panjshir Emerald. Guest guest
Dear Sir, Thanks for your kind reply. Yes, the material is worse than junk. Yet a fine quality Panjshir emerald, beats every other origin black & blue. I read a article at AIGS which mentions that mining of Emeralds, from the valley of five lions started 30 years back, a fact i tend to disagree with. 'cause yours truly once saw a gem, mined 80 years back. Best Wishes Abhi Richard Shaw-Brown <rsbj66 wrote: Panjshir emerald are mostly junk. And even 85% clean is most probably 50% clean but oiled. Guest guest
Richard, How we can identify the real Emerald? What are the tests ? 2 months back i was offered 100% clean emerald 3.5 carat at just 9000 RS. It was not bright and shiny though it was dull dark pista colour. Looking at it it was flawless but i got doubt that it is not original emerald (it might be synthetic or just glass) so i did not purchase it. How about Laboratory grown emerald? Since natural emerald is too costly Is it worth going for lab grown emerald. refer to http://www.astrogems.com/cost_crystal_healing_gems.php Thanks Gajen sacred-objects , " Richard Shaw-Brown " <rsbj66 wrote: > > Panjshir emerald are mostly junk. Guest guest
Dear Sriman, Namaste. Please see http://www.agt-gems.com/Book/Modern/GemData.html and choose Mercury and note the gemological info. REALLY, for a layman, the best way is to insist on a bona fide gemological certificate of quality and ID.
