Guest guest
Dear Sriman, Namaste!!! Personally I think the Tanzanian are usually too dark. But I don't care about origin, I only care about color and clarity. Regardless of origin. Y/s, Richard sacred-objects , Kochu Menon <kochu1 wrote: > > > Any views on Tanzanian spinels and Rubies? Guest guest
Sri Menon, Spinel is a very rare gemstone. The best African Spinels are stocked by David Weinberg of multicolour.com. They are available in vibrane red/pink, with a hint of Purple, the best quality deposits are located in Mahenge. African Rubies are always treated, 97% of African Rubies are Treated (either glass filled and/or diffused). Unheated "Fire" Andilamena Ruby is the best investment quality ruby coming from the Dark-Continent. The best quality Spinels are coming from Namya, Neon Pink, Top Top Quality. here's some eye-candy, http://www.gaaj-zenhokyo.co.jp/researchroom/kanbetu/2006/2006_03-01en.html. Guest guest
thank you. I did get a nice spinel that is supposed to be untreated from Swala gems, which is the company that brought Tanzanite to the world. I hope it is worth the price I paid. I am looking for a good ruby but the prices are way above what a poor man like me can afford.Menon sacred-objects From: benarsibabuDate: Wed, 5 Dec 2007 11:22:22 +0000Re: Tanzanian spinels Sri Menon, Spinel is a very rare gemstone. Guest guest
Sri Menon, Spinels as a rule are always untreated. If it is not a bother can you upload a pic. of the gem you possess. The pricing of Spinels have been upwardly mobile lately. But if one is patient, a good deal is always possible. Good Quality Namya/Mogok Spinel, can be had for U$ 5,000 for a 4 carat stone, if one is prudent & knows the correct way for negotiation. Best Kochu Menon <kochu1 wrote: thank you.
