I once asked this question to Prof Dr Satya Vrat Shastri. He told me

the Sanskrit devanagari it is combination of " aa " + " uu " + " anushwar -

m " - for saat-chit-ananda. BUT, he said it should be written

(transliterated) in English as " OM " !

---I can't figure that one out. Can you?

Y/s,

Richard

Hari bol In A.C. Bhaktivedanta's purport to the Chaitanya Caritamrita verse Adi Lila Chap 7 verse 128, he explains that "A" indicates Krishna, "U" indicates Radharani and "M" indicates the living entities (jiva).

Yes! Aa Uu M = 3 of so many things, including Brahma Vishnu Maheshwar;

adidaivik, adibhoutik, adyatmik; sat-chit-ananda; Guru, Gauranga,

Radha-Krishna, etc etc. BUT: HOW IS IT TRANSLITERATED? OM or AUM?
