In mundane astrology we can consider the horoscopes of the country, the president or the presidential oath to see the trends ahead. I like to study the horoscopes for the Oaths.GRAPHICAbove we see the horoscope for the USA of 1949. For newcomers remember that the houses in this north Indian style of graphic the house 1 always start at the middle top. The numbers shown here are not the houses but the signs, from Aries to Pisces represented from numbers 1 to 12 in anti-clock direction. For some reason, the Oaths taken at noon on 20 December at Washington always have Aries rising (the ascendant).From the planetary position in houses it is possible to relate the trends with what history displays.By tradition the Oath is at noon, but in reality we should consider the time for the horoscope when the Oath is finished, which is about 2-3’ later, having gone through some 40 words. Nevertheless, in 3’ from noon the ascendant does not move more than one degree and it is safe to consider noon time in this case.Here we have the recent Oath for 2009. Notice the Moon (Mo) in Scorpio (the 8th house) indicating the secrecy, although president Obama has promised secrecy in his inauguration speech. Notice as well the interchange of houses between lords of the 19th and 5th houses. Capricorn (# 10) is ruled by Saturn, which is in Leo (# 5). The 5th houses rules diplomacy but also gambling, and the 19th house rules professions. When there is a pavirthana yoga (planetary combination of interchange of houses, mutual aspect or association), that trend is more intensive (or important). However, the Sun ruling Leo (or the 5th house) is under a subha-papa kartari yoga, by having Venus (a subha or good) planet on one side, and Mars (a papa or bad ) planet on the other side. This yoga shows the effect of a pair of scissors. Thus, the Sun representing the 5th . houses (diplomacy and gambling), is likely to show up mixed results of good and bad. However, there are three more planets in the 10th house exposed to this papakartari yoga, but we will deal with them in another occasion. Suffice to say that those planets are representing the 3rd, 6th, 9th and 12th houses, and hence those houses will be affected as well by the subha-papa kartari yoga. In any horoscope, whenever one sees more than 2 planets in a sign it means a more complex trends to be seen at one point in time. In the above horoscope we see four planets (no counting the Outer planets; Uranus (Ur), Neptune (Ne) and Pluto (Pl), as they have a different level of consideration.Another important yoga can be seen in the pavirthana yoga where Saturn as lord of the 10th house, and Venus as lord of the 7th are forming a raja yoga. Every raja yoga can coffer powers provided that the planets are strong. Here Saturn is not strong by being in his enemy sign of Leo, but nevertheless there will be some support from partners (represented by the 7th house), and some positive influence in the earnings of the country (the 11th house rules wages, earnings), although not enough as to save the economy in the next 4 years.Having seen a bit of this mundane chart, we now will see the monthly transits, as this is my main intention, to show the scientific value of astrology.I do not need to convince the believer, but those in doubt or reluctant towards astrology can see how the planets in transit can show events. The inner circle shows the number of the houses. The second circle shows in yeloow color the numbers representing the signs. The next circle shows the planets of the horoscope (the presidential oath), and the outside cicle shows in yellow letters the planets in transit for the beginning of March. Although the Outer planets can be seen, at this stage do not bother with them and just concentrate on the other 9 planets, from the Sun to Ketu.Here there is a simple rule: In any horoscope we have 9 planets and the ascendant = 10. In the transits we also have 0 planets and the ascendant = 10. When we see more than 2 planets in a single sign, we should expect more complex events in proportion to the number of planets seen. Yesterday Gordon Brown, the British Prime Minister, visited president Obama. Or in other words, partners coming to help. Although we have to consider that Venus as the lord of the 2nd in the 12th is a daridra yoga, a planetary combination of poverty and losses, but his exaltation may help provided that institutions are given a help (the 12th rules institutions as banks, hospitals, jails, etc.)Let us see the trends to appear in the next 4 weeks until we see the next mundane horoscope cast for April to see the trends.
