Upa-ratna strength?

I am wondering if there is any research/knowledge available about how much planetary astral energy are transmitted by flawless upa-ratna (secondary gemstones) per carat compared to their primary flawless counterparts, such as Yellow Topaz compared to Yellow Sapphire or Red Spinel compared to Red Ruby.

Well, it might be about density, like a red spinel looks like a ruby but is a

hardness (or density) less than a ruby. In which case a 3 carat perfect red

spinel works as well as a one carat ruby of same quality. Same with Topaz /

Yellow sapp, etc. but in other cases it is a stone which is uparatna of a

planet, like Pearls are not stones, but they are a precious gem for Moon, there

is a harder density in Moonstone than in Natural Pearl, but I would still say a

natural pearl of 1 carat = Moonstone of over 6 carats. There is not any bona

fide exact science of uparatna. They are a recent addition to the scene. I first

saw of uparatnas in 1974 from late Raaj Roop Tank of Jaipur. He had two books,

in Hindi and in English as " Indian Gemology. " So my own experience has shown

success with all clients using uparatnas, and to the extent of my experience I

would say Uparatna are about 30% as strong as the Maharatna. Like a over three

carat flawless moonstone would equal a single one carat natural Pearl. In some

cases I actually prefer the Uparatnas over the Maharatnas, such as Tsavorite is

BETTER than Emerald. So it's a superstition belief based on common sense and

recent tradition.

Tsavorite, being SR (like diamond) is much more beautiful than emerald which is DR. It's just my personal opinion. NOTHING in planetary gemology can be proved. Everything about gems is either from Shastra OR is made-up opinion. Astrology, itself riddled with millions of opinions, also cannot be proved by science. So my opinion is a "hunch".Y/s,RichardRichard Shaw Brown, PGMusician, Designer, Gemologist & Authorwww.richardshawbrown.com--- On Thu, 8/10/09, Ole Alstrup

Astrology does effect humans as we know only question remains unasnwered is how to prove it?Does it also effect other living creatures as well?Perhpas one day science will able to prove this.If music can effect plants Planets can also have their effects on them as well We only need to have a tool to find this.--- On Wed, 10/7/09, Richard Shaw Brown <rsbj66 wrote:
