Superb obserations on Swamiji

and

wonderful clarification on Adi Shankaraachaarya's teachings in the light of

Bhagawan Sri Ramana Maharshi!

Sri Sri Yukteshwar Giri (the immediate Preceptor of Sri Sri Paramahamsa

Yogaanandaa) , in His " commentary on the 'Kaivalya Darsanam' " ( " Holy Science " ),

says that 'Man' is 'frugivorous' (eater of fruits) and He makes a

differentiation between 'herbivorous' (eater of plants) and 'frugivorous'.

I can't remember the details.

[Madhava Replies:]

Dear Ms. Sumita:

Hari Om!

Since your friend seem to be more interested in the " brief " summary,

I would like to present a Hymn (Sukta) called " nAsadiya " , that I have with

me, which is from our Rig-Veda. It is a very cryptic message on the

Creation Theory. Please let me know if your friend need any further

clarifications.

By the way, there are other creation theories in our mythology

(puranas) and of course they sound more like Genesis. I choose this hymn

because it is the most ancient thought on creation. All the best to you.

Best Regards,

Madhava

From the Rig-Veda

10.129 Creation Hymn (Nasadiya)

This short hymn, though linguistically simple (with the exception

of one or two troublesome nouns), is conceptually extremely

provocative

and has, indeed, provoked hundreds of complex commentaries among

Indian

theologians and Western scholars. In many ways, it is meant to

puzzle

and challenge, to raise unanswerable questions, to pile up

paradoxes.

****

There was neither non-existence nor existence then; there was

neither

the realm of space nor the sky which is beyond. What stirred? Where?

In whose protection? Was there water, bottomlessly deep?

There was neither death nor immortality then. There was no

distinguishing

sign of night nor of day. That one breathed, windless, by its own

impulse.

Other than that there was nothing beyond.

Darkness was hidden by darkness in the beginning; with no

distinguishing

sign, all this was water. The life force that was covered with

emptiness,

that one arose through the power of heat.

Desire came upon that one in the beginning; that was the first seed

of mind.

Poets seeking in their heart with wisdom found the bond of existence

in non-existence.

Their cord was extended across. Was there below? Was there above?

There

were seed-placers; there were powers. There was impulse beneath;

there

was giving-forth above.

Who really knows? Who will here proclaim it? Whence was it produced?

Whence

is this creation? The gods came afterwards, with the creation of

this

universe. Who then knows whence it has arisen?

Whence this creation has arisen perhaps it formed itself, or perhaps

it

did not the one who looks down on it, in the highest heaven, only he

knows

or perhaps he does not know.

HI

there is nothing like asking sorry for these things

A person of different culture may not know many things about other's

Diwali also called deepavali is a combination of two words which means " row

of earthern pot lamps " a widely celebrated festival all over INDIA

especially north India

It is celebrated to commemorate return of " Lord Shri Raama " to his hometown

" Ayodhya " after the killing of Demon " Raavana "

The people of Ayodhya welcomed Him by burning " Ghee Lamps "

Festival of Diwali is acually celebrated over a span of 5 days(some places

6 days)

First day is " Dhanteras " on thirteenth day of lunar months of " Karthik "

dark side.......people bye some ornaments, utensils on this day

Second Day is " Narak Chaudas " on fourteenth day ...early morning oil bath

and showing lamps to forefathers is there.....Bengalis worship " Goddess

Kaali " on this night

Third Day is " Deepawali " on " Amavasya " new moon day...people worship

" Goddess Laxmi " Goddess of Fortune...

Fourth Day is devoted to worship of " Cows " ... peasants decorate and worship

their cattles

Fifth Day is " Bhaiya Dooj " sisters will put " tilak " on forehead of theirs

brothers and pray for their long life and everlasting tie

Main thing is that Diwali is celebrated with a view that " Good Always wins

over Evil "

It is also an occassion for get together,, shopping,,etc etc

This group is formed with the intension of discussing life, gospels and

others things related to Lord Shri Ramakrishna and Vivekananda and Advaita

theory, I believe

Still majority fo INDIA believes in duality ....Gods and Goddesses

,,festivals this plays a major role in their life

So I am happy to give you some information

Anything more you want to know ,,you are welcome

devashish

Please,forgive my lack of knowlege.

Could You tell me something more about Diwalli's origin and meaning?

hi,you must have had some reason to say that .

But don't you think that the"punishment"system is just another version of the Karma law?God is not a detective, after all!

When we break someone's trust,we become mistrusted-at least by one person and it becomes even more complicated(in our mind)when we realize what we have done.I think that it's a kind of suffer(the punishment we've all been thaught of is actually our own mind's work).

In that aspect I've seen lots of people being 'punished' like that.Just look around at all these depressive people and the paranoya they live in;

whish you best-mihaelaTaposhri <taposhri wrote:

Dear All

When I was a kid, I was taught taught that People who do bad deeds are punished by the Lord. The Lord is watching all of us, so one should always try not to hurt others, try not to lie and try to be good.

When people break someone's trust, they eventually land up hurting the person. Isnt that bad? Isnt it something for which the Lord must punish?

But I have never seen people being punished.

Why doesnt a person realise then and there itself that he is wrong? Why do people say that time will teach him? Does that time ever come?

Dear Srinivas Garu and all active memebers :

I would really like to thank you all for making the past few

months very informative. In this era of science and technology where

the very idea of Divine presence is been speculated as mere something

unknown rather than a genuine surrender to it (please do not

misunderstand this to be blind faith here) such useful inforamtion

about some very basic things and how important they can be is really

heart rendering. Some of us away from India and missing certain things

in different ways can again relate to ourselves in this way.

Thanks a lot everyone. This group is extremely inforamtive.

Sincerely,

Deepshika

JAI MAA,

If an orininary person can live past 100 to 150 years then a yogi who has

control over his 5 senses can live easily past hundred years.

Please read about TRAILANGA SWAMI or Yogiraj Sri Barphani Dadaji

I don't have a precise answer to your question as to how a swami or sadhu can live more than a hundred years but this type of longevity does not appear to be peculiar to swamis' or sadhus' as many people live to beyond one hundred years of age. It will be interesting to hear from people more learned in this.hurry richa <hurrybh wrote: namaskar every1 i have heard that a swami or sadhu can live more than a hundred years. how is it possible?

plz help Building a website is a piece of cake. Small Business gives you all the tools to get online.

Humble Obeisances to all! Sadhana. Revered AUM has nicely elaborated. I an not

more learned but try to answer to some extent. In Sadhana, be inquisitive and

get even smallest doubt clearedthrough right person/group, i.e. Satsang. Hear

appropriate and acquire Gyan by thinking/reading over it. Develop intense

devotion/Bhakti by thinking' why I should be devotee?' When the mind assents use

the acquired Gyan to do Bhakti. With the help of Gyan and Bhakti, do all

routine, accepted, obligatory, social, work of any nature with proper Gyan and

as a Bhakti of beloved diety. While cooking one can think 'I am cooking this

food for my God and family, while working in office/works one can think ' what

ever I earn is for God and family and like wise. It is His grace that I am given

an opportunity to look after dependent and He has full confidence in me so He

has entrusted this job to me only. I am so lucky to get His grace.' In sadhana

daily, at fixed time, on in shift duties at

appropriate time as per cycle, two times Meditation is essential. At beginning

and end. After end, submit the whole account of all activities of that day to

God, beg for His pardon for faults knowingly / unknowingly done and then sleep.

House holder devotee should select simple ways and need not insist for hard and

incessant Anusthanas unless advised by 'Guru'. God requires our Heart, mind and

Intellect. Be an instrument in His hands, i.e try to do instrumental devotion

with the help of Shreemad Bhagavad Gita. Extra enthusiasm, impatience and haste

as well as in-advertance should be avoided. Slow but steady, firm/determined,

pleasent, keeping always cheerful. Bhagavan Yogeshwara has said 'BahunAm

janmanAmante gyAnwAn mAm prapadyante' meaning it take births and births together

to attain God-realization (one-ness with God). So avoid impatience and haste.

Sadhana is not a mirror held in hand to watch face whenever desired so don't be

impatient for expected/desired results.

Don't get dissappointed at any lever and don't compare our own sadhana with

others. Don't envy other for their progress and don't bear inferiority complex

for slow advancement. Superiority complex over slow brother/sister devotees is

also not allowed as God watches everyone as per his/her progress equally and

without comparison or extra favour to anyone. To get such points cleared in

more details, some devotee has put forward a proposal for joint meet of all

members. It should be welcome. I would rather suggest our Revered AUM and other

senior Advisors / moderators, to speed up the programme so that many new comers,

like me, will be benefitted and those who are in advanced stage will be

recharged again. I beg pardon of everybody to put forth any unwarrented point.

Heartful Regards to everybody. = Keshav.

Photos of Ganesh Chaturthi - 2007 Jai Sai Ram I have received many requests from the devotees for the hard and soft copies of the Ganesh Ji and the mouse formed with Udi on the photo of Baba, although I sent these 2 photos as attachments with my letter. It is not possible to send the photos individually by email, what to say about the hard copy by courier. I have uploaded these photos in the photo section of the ‘mysaibaba21’ under the folder ‘Ganesh Chaturthi – 2007’ . devotees are requested to down load them from there. I have created this new ‘mysaibaba21’

, to use its Photo Section for such purposes. Few Jpg files are also there of the Aartees and their meaning in Hindi. The

file section of this has already been used to host the video clippings of Palki Procession of Baba at Shirdi on the Rang Panchmi. This group has been created to use the file and photo section space PLEASE DO NOT POST ANY EMAILS TO THIS GROUP AS NO MAILS WILL BE SENT TO THE MEMBERS OF THIS GROUP. To go to this key in or simply click the link mysaibaba21 . You will also not receive any communication from this group. Jai Sai Ram. Dear All,

First my Namaskarams to everyone.

I have been a silent spectator on this group for all these days. I had been to Samrakshana at Neelangarai during late 90's. Actually I came for the first time without any purpose but with a heavy heart and stress caused due to some incident at my work place. I was just a new comer and was witnessing the events there like Bhajans, Baba's discourse etc., I didnt mingle with any one there. Baba as part of His routine visits to devotees came up to me and gave me some Vibhuti prasadam and a chocolate. I just fell at His feet, which he didnt like. He lifted me up and said not to do it anymore. I didnt even ask or talk anything to Baba. Stayed there for sometime and came back home. That was a Sunday. Monday I just started to my office on my two wheeler and on the way I got a call on my mobile saying that the problem which was happening for such a long time (for many weeks) at office was cleared even before I reached office without even me dealing with the

problem. I would say that I just did nothing about the problem, but was worrying as it was uninvited for me and I was in no way part or cause of the problem.

After so many years I visited Ramarajya couple of times. Later I had an opportunity to write to Baba through the website about my another problem of mine. He replied to it personally saying that "Dont worry. You will be alrite". I was happy and in next few days, my problems looked subsided.

Few months back, I was just going through the web and found this which I only read but dont write here in the groups. As I was having my temple blog site I just kept posting my temple visits describing many temples etc., But I read most of the mails of this group. I saw a discussion about the devotee's experiences with Baba. It's been going for a while. In which, Mr. Krishnamurthy Venkatraman has written that Baba reads all the mails here in this group and He is aware of some members by name.

My thoughts were "Will Baba read my mails about temples too???" Will it happen???

Many wont beleive, I have been posting about the temples to this group for long and I didnt have any reply from anyone. Just after reading Mr. Krishnamurthy's mail and my subsequent thoughts, I just opened my blog site, I saw 2 of our member's comments on my page, saying that Iam doing a good job. And they are as follows :

Ms. Urmila wrote :

"You have done a job which is rare and you should feel thankful to Lord for assigning you to do this special job and bring the information to other sitting at their desks. Thanks to you and Thanks to Lord Shiva and BABAJI."

(In the above, "you should feel thankful to Lord for assigning you to do this special job" I took these words as Baba's words itself assigning me a such job. )

and Mr. Jaya Vijayan wrote :

" SANKARAM SIVA SANKARAM

Dear Saravanan,

gd evng. thank you so much to view the temple of Lord Chenganmaal.

like this so many temples are hiding in our TN. i used to tell myself to our BABA, pl visit those places so that they may become more sprituality and get HIS VIBARATION also. these places are unknown to me. thank you once again."

jv

salem

I thank both of them and also take their words as Baba Himself went through it and blessed me.

Thanks and Pranams to Baba and everyone here,

Saravanan

Dearest Krishnamurthy Sir,

I never meant intentionally that no one gave comments. I meant that no one commented and when once I thought 'whether Baba would read my mails' suddenly comments started pouring and I took it as Baba's comments itself.

Sorry is too big a word for a person like me. Iam a small Dhoosi (dust) while seeing other Bhakthas.

Iam no way near to many of you here.

I really admire everyone's utmost devotion and total surrender under on umbrella. Sir, I once again apologise with you for having made you say 'sorry'. Actually I should say thanks to everyone here.

Namaskarams to all.

shankaram shiva shankaram,'Pranams to Babaji,I am so happy to be among all of you. It makes me feel as if I am nearBabaji sitting among all of you next to HIM.I read in the mail which says you visited Babaji and on your return, yourproblem was solved. In my case, I witnessed the solutions there and then itself. In my firstvisit, my daughter being scared to appear for the priliminary test at Baba'sSchool and being new to the place was a little hesitant to appear for theexam the very first day. I, my daughter and my son, we three had visited.I myself was not aware of the powers of Babaji - not even a little. But Iwas going through the view of a few students and I started joinging 1 and 1and before I could reach any conclusion, I was in front of Babaji. Babajivery cool as usual just looking at Gauri said - take rest today and appearfor the exam tomorow if you want to.

Otherwise your admission is done.Fine.Gauri could not show it but I bursted out of laughter. I told Babaji likean innocent child that Babaji, she was only praying to Lord Shiva that shewould like to appear for the exam the next day. How did you know thatBabaji. Babaji as usual laughed and laughed. We all laughed and laughed - you would feel why did we all laugh. I stilldon't know why did we all laugh but we all had a lengthy laugh session.Writing this mail, I am again revived of that incident and I am laughingright now again. I am sure Babaji is also doing the same there in Chennai.I am sorry, I had to wait for a little while to stop laughing. So I was just trying to tell everyone that my case, I have seen thesolutions there and then itself. So much so the things which seem to be difficult, have been solved infrictions of a second.I am yet to go there on pournima to witness

how people go in trans and------------ - I do not know exactly.shankaram shiva shankaramBabaji pranams,Mr. Saravanan ji,I thanked you for playing such a fantastic role because of these reasons :1. Details of temples can be found in books also but would require a lot ofsearching, time, energy and yet you cannot be sure you got the temple youhad in mind. Your detailed information is readily available so a personwho is unable to spend and waste time, can go through your details and getthorough knowledge.2. The details captured by you are your personal visits and details - whichmake the reader visit the temple personally. I felt that I was personallywalking through the temple all the way reading your details.3. The details given by you were thorough and every minute information washighlighted. Normally people who visit temples, do go through the route, dogo through the

corridors of the temple, do go through the Moorthies buthardly anyone I MEAN ANYONE gets to know the history of the temple, thebackground of the temple and the importance or the value of the temple.Having darshan is a common job. Knowing the history and its value isanother impossible job. On top of that presenting the informationaccurately to others to visit the temples through their computers is all themore an impossible job.4. Hats off to you because God - Babaji chose you for this job because hegave you the sense of observation, then preservation of the information andthen the courage and knowledge to present the information for others.Had you been an uneducated person, you would not have been able to do thisjob. So its again Babaji who wanted you to do this job, gave you the pathto move on it.5. Unless you had those magnetic powers and vibrations in you, Babaji wouldnot have given you

the inner instict to visit the temples so minutely andmake notings for others. Babaji knows who is capable of what and it ispeople like me who realise very late or probably untill the right timecomes, we do not realise it. So when you present such information, you musthave got the sources and resources for it, which is again a blessing ofBabaji.Saravanan ji, I had many more points in mind when I said thanks to you butit would take really very long for you even to read them. But truely from my inner heart, I once again thank you for the wonderfuljob.Saravanan ji, there are a few placement services who get you the rightjob., Babaji is that divine power, that will get you the right thing but atthe right time. This is my conclusion. May be I am right. But if I amwrong, please do correct me because I have not been very very close to himand not many visits to him. Babaji knows our ins and outs

and knows how totackle us in the best way. Its only we who do not surrender - may bebecause of our own ego or worldly affairs attachment etc.Saravanan ji, I would end this mail by saying thanks to you once again. Please do continue sending informations on temples. If you have anyinformation on PANCH KEDAR, please do send me the same.Babaji pranams, shankaram shiva shankaram. On 3/23/08, Krishna Moorthy <krishcare > wrote:>> Dear Saravanan,>> Sankaram Siva Sankaram.>> I am happy and glad to understand that you are such a fortunate devotee of> Baba.> I am accepting in public my mistake in not posting my comments in your> blog.> Kindly forgive me for the same.>> Please accept our sincere thanks on behalf of all
