Guest guest
Om Namah Sivaya As we perform prayers, rituals and wear symbols of the Lord like Rudraksha, bhasma etc, we should remember what Acharya Sankara taught. Acharya Sankara taught that all these karmas are fine - they will help to cleanse the dirt of the mind. But eventually, a finite action will yield a finite result. It is self-knowledge that will liberate a person and provide Kaivalya ananda - the endless bliss that is Brahman. The Upanishads loudly proclaim that absolute reality is - sivam, shantam, advaitum, satyam, jnanam and anantam (auspicious, peaceful, non dual, truth/existence, knowledge/awareness and infinite) So a seeker has to strike a balance - perform karmas with shraddha and bhakti but also study some of the works of Acharya Sankara. Too much karmas will make us ritualistic and too much theorectical study will make us arrogant about knowledge. So a balance should be there. In the Kaivalya upanishat, when the disciple asks adihi bhagvan brahm vidya varishtham ... (Sir please teach me the best of knowledge - brahm vidya) the first thing the teacher says is shraddha bhakti dhyana yoga Just some food for thought. regards, Om Namah Sivaya
