AATHREYA - KAASHYAPEYA RAAHU & KETHU

RAAHU & KETHU are the sons of KASHYAPA BRAHMA and Simhika.

RAAHU is Dragon Head and KETHU is Dragon Tail.

RAAHU is Ascending Lunar node;KETHU is Descending Lunar Node.

RAAHU and KETHU could have been one and the same or could have

been two separate individuals.

When VISHNU as MOHINI is distributing Amrutham, Kashyapa-Simhika's

sons RAAHU and KETHU were sitting along with Devathas - RAAHU

just drank Amrutham and as IT is still in his gullet MOHINi cut off His

head which survived as DRAGON'S HEAD ; KETHU also drank

Amrutham , but it is well past into His body and when MOHINI cut off

His head His tail survived as DRAGON'S TAIL; or another possibility

is when whoever the guy who drank Amrutham was cut into two by

MOHINI , the Cephalad portion became DRAGON HEAD-RAAHU

and the Caudal portion became DRAGON TAIL-KETHU.

Whatever may be the case how did MOHINI come to know about

RAAHU and KETHU - it is SOORYA and CHANDRA who exposed

them and hence RAAHU and KETHU periodically take revenge as

SOORYA GRAHANAM and CHANDRA GRAHANAM .

RAAHU and KETHU are Chaaya Grahams ( Shadow Planets )

and exercise influence on our loves . RAAHU is further alloted a

particular time of each and every day as RAAHU KAALAM.
