Its tip is wide, long and sharp, signifying incisive discrimination and Spiritual Knowledge, which must be broad, deep and penetrating. It destroys ignorance and restores the Jiva to its original abode of pristine glory. Sri Ramakrishna’s saying: “The aspirant does not attain the Knowledge of Brahman as long as he is conscious of his ego. The ego comes under one’s control after one has objected the Knowledge of Brahman and seen God. Otherwise the ego cannot be controlled. It is difficult to catch one’s own shadow. But when the sun is overhead, the shadow is within afew inches of the body.†Tirumantirum (verse 2017): Jiva and Siva are OneJiva and SivaSeparate are not;Jiva knows not Siva; When Jiva knows Siva;Jiva becomes Siva.Tirukural: (358) Wisdom is that rare realization of Perfection's True Being, which banishes forever the folly of rebirth.
