Guest guest
Dear Sri Jayaprakash Bhat, Namaste. Your desire to obtain Siva Linga and do pooja is appreciable. Of course, you can purchase a Sivalinga from any Divya Kshetra or from specific shop where pooja materials are sold. As Salagrama is the swaroopa of Lord Vishnu, Bana Lingam is the swaroopa of Lord Siva. These Bana Lingams are available in the depth of Narmada river. Even a round shape ordinary stone may also serve the purpose of Siva Linga Pooja. You can do Siva Pooja just placing a Rudraksha. Spatika Lingam is also available. But my suggestion is that do not purchase linga/Bana and keep it in your pooja. There is a proper method and step by step procedure which will help you to achieve the goal. 1) First and foremost is that you devote at least half-an-hour daily in reciting the Siva Stotras of Sri Adi Sankara or seven in your mother tongue composed by realised persons. 2) This you continue for three months. Then through a proper person get initiation of Sri Panchakshara Mantra and start doing intensive and regular Japa as per the advice of the Guru. 3) If you continue this for Six months then Sivalinga will come to you. Siva Deeksha or Pooja has to be received from familly elders like father, grand-father, uncle who used to have regular poojas or from Acharyas. Once started doing pooja you should not stop it or discontinue it on any reason except on the prescribed occasions. Panchopachara.Shodasopachaara has to be done accordingly. Reciting stotras, doing Mantra Japa and observing pooja system regularly will elevate a person to higher plane and bring De vine Grace. Your intensive prayer will fulfil your desire. I say all this without knowing your background. But these are general principles to be followed by a devotee. With regards.
