Guest guest
Hanuman's Ideal: Sri RamThere is a story of Hanuman, who was a great worshipper of Rama; just as the Christians worship Christ as he incarnation of God, so the Hindus worship many incarnations of God; according to them, God came nine times in India, and will come once more. When he came as Rama this Hanuman was His great worshipper. Hanuman lived very long, and was a great Yogi, and during his lifetime Rama came again as Krishna, and he, being a great Yogi, knew that the same God had come back again as Krishna. He came and served Krishna, but he said to Him, "I want to see that Rama form of yours". Krishna said." Is not this form enough? I am this Krishna; I am this Rama; all these forms are mine". Hanuman said, "I know that, but the Rama form is for me. The Lord of Janaki and the Lord of Sri are the same; they are both the incarnations of the Supreme Self; yet the Lotus-eyed Rama is my all in all". This is Nishta; knowing that all these different forms of worship are right, yet sticking to one, and rejecting the others. We must not worship the others at all. We must not hate or criticise them, but respect them. The elephant has two teeth coming out from his mouth. These are only for show; he cannot eat with them; but the teeth that are inside are those with which' he chews his food. So mix with all states, say yea, yea to all, but join none. Stick to your own ideal of worship.Swami Vivekananda.(From Bhakti Yoga) Thanks & Regards,Sudhir SrinivasanArchitectMobile: +353-87 285 9086
Guest guest
Namaste. I am reminded of another story told by the Vraja Rasik saint in Vrindavan. When Saint Tulasi das visited Vrindavana, Lord Radha Ramana gave him darshan as Lord Sita Rama. Sant Tulasidasji is believed to be the incarnation of Hanumanji himself. Once the great saint Tulasi visited Sri Radha Krihna temple in Vrindavan. The deities of Divine Couple had appeared to him in Their original Divine form, embracing each other, holding flute in Their hands. But Tulasiji's love towards his Lord was 'dasya bhakti', Divine Love in the mood of servitorship. The servant has no right to enter the private chamber of his master and mistress. A servant is not authorized to participate in the confidential pastimes of his master. Unfortunately he is not allowed this intimacy due to the natural etiquette, 'maryaada' of pure devotion and the 'Prema rasa'. Similarly it is also forbidden to witness the intimate pastimes of the parents even by their own children, what to speak of by a servant! So to protect himself from the impropriety and not to transgress the principles of Bhakti Rasa, Tulasiji prayed to Lord Radha Krishna to save his honor as a pure (dasya rasa) servant of the Lord but not as a (madhurya rasa) sweetheart (paramour). He coudn't tolerate a blemish on his 'dasya rasa' Prema Bhakti. Immediately maryaada purushottam Sri Rama appeared in front of him holding bow and arrows along with His wedded wife Sitadevi and upheld the etiquette of Tulasi's Prema Bhakti. It is the Supreme power of 'Prema Bhakti', Divine Love which brings the All powerful Lord under the control of His devotee. Guest guest
Namaste. Another story about Hanumanji and his Divine Love: After Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya, Hanumanji attended Sri Rama for every work. He was swift and able to accomplish singlehandedly every task and service of his Master successfully leaving no room for others to join in with their share of chores. This caused some problems as Lord Rama's own brothers, Bharat, Lakshman and Shatrughna also had therefore no opportunity to render any personal service to Him. All of them got together and voiced their complaints against Hanumanji. By Sitaji's interference, the duties and other assignments for rendering service to Sri Rama were divided and fixed among all His aspirants accordingly. Every possible activity of personal service to Lord Rama was already assigned to His associates and other servants. Consequently there was no work left for Hanumanji to engage in for rendering service to his Master. Seeing him very disappointed and anxious, Lord Rama smilingly offered a very important but difficult service, even though the job assigned to Hanuman appeared outwardly negligible to others. Hanumanji had to snap his fingers everytime His Lord yawned to alert Him. All the brothers and servants of Sri Rama were happy to get all the major parts of service to Rama. Hanuman was initially upset but then he had received something which others could not even think of... Yawning had no fixed time nor place. Sri Rama could yawn at any given time at any given place! Hanuman then began to remain with his Master every moment for he did not know when his Master would need his service, the snapping of his fingers to alert Him when his Lord would yawn! All his time was simply spent lovingly gazing upon his Master's lotusface and drinking the Nectar of His beauty without interruption!! Whenever he was asked to go and relax, he refused to leave his Lord. His argument was that he could not afford to be found wanting in the service of Lord Rama. Now even Sitaji found it inconvenient for Hanuman could not leave Sri Rama even for one second. So at last, Sri Rama's brothers and servants agreed to let Hanuman serve Sri Rama as he previously did and therefore the old arrangements were re-established! Rama Lakshmana Janaki, Jai bolo Hanuman ki! Jaya Sri Radhe! , dg rao <dgrao_2000 wrote: > > Read with a smile. Hari om.
Guest guest
:Namaste all. When Hanumanji carried Sri Rama and Lakshmana on his shoulders when they were in search of Sugreeva, the king of Vanara in Kishkindha, the Lord was holding Hanuman ji very tightly so that He might not fall off from the highly elevated mountai -like shoulders. Hanuman ji smiled at Sri Ram and said, " It is proper and expected of a devotee servant to hold on to the Lord with all his strength but in my case it is reversed. The Lord Himself is clinging on to His servant with all His might! " Jaya Radhe!
