One need not lose hope.Dont wait for karma to work itself out. Truth is not static;Everything in the universe is dynamic and constantly changing. Karmas or thei effects may be no exception.By Silence the ever chattering mind if kept at bay,one may perhaps know more of oneself. Who am I. Meditationon this may help supplented by knowledge of vedantha or teachings of Buddha or Great Masters like JK

It is the intrepretations that kill the essence perhaps.

Looking forward to know more.

Dear Viji,

I think so.Karma yoga ultimately leads to gyana, through Bhakti. Thus we have three great men to guide us the path.Firstly Ram teaches us Karma yoga as the seventh incarntaion/.Then Krishna comes to guide us in Bahkti yoga as the eighth incarnation. Then we have Buddha to teach us gyan yoga as the ninth incarnation of God. After that, we have the coordination of all these three as the tenth incarnation to teach us Raj yoga as the tenth incarnation of Kalki.

These yogas are said to represent the four yugas. Ram and karma is Ttreta yuga,Krishna and bhakti is dwarpar yuga, Buddha and gyan yoga is Kali yuga and Kalki with coordination is satya yuga. Thus in satya yuga dharma is said to rest on all the four feet as the coordiantion of all..These four yugas or yogas then go round and round like the swastic. When we go round 71 times it becomes one manwantar.1000 times becomes one kalpa, which is Barahma's one day.

This one kalpa may be called as the 25800 years of ayan chalan. One manwantar is when we shift the festivals one month, each 2150 years,.It is already time to shift one month festival for calender reform. If we do not shift then our vedic dharma is lost.

So let us all support the movement for calender reform.Shree Avatar Krishna Kaul of hindu calender is also tryng to lead us to reform all our festivals.Let us decide quickly and restore our dharma for the better.thanks.

Regards,

Hari Malla

My view as understood.

Karma applies to body and mind.

Karma is the law of cause and effect applied over this life and previous lives.

Hence in a material sense, what it means is that you put in the effort and you

get it's due rewards.

Now the next subtle point here, relates to the material world and especially to

the spiritual part of the world, is that, GRACE is a critical component of the

whole process.

Call it God's grace, Guru's grace whatever.

Without Grace, even a blade of grass can't move.

Now, Gyaan applies to a higher realm than body-mind.

So internalizing Gyaan into your body-mind is Grace + Karma (i.e. Karma specific

to Sadhana, meditation, study of scriptures, self-inquiry, bhakti-marga rituals

etc - any one or all or a combination of these various techniques).

Jai Ma!

From what little I have read and listened to, according to vedanta, the end is to realise 'Aham Bramhasmi'. Realising this requires a lot of Jnana - hence the prescription to use Jnana Yoga to realise One's Self. But to be able to attempt Jnana Yoga, one has to be 'prepared' (as in 'prepare the aata to make chappati). The process of preparing the body and mind is Karma Yoga.

Thus the steps are:Karma YogaJnana YogaFreedom from SamsaraIf you read any commentary on Bhagavad Gita, you should be able to get this from the first 6 chapters. But, the 3 steps prescribed above can be arduous, and could take many years, possibly decades and probably many lifetimes.

The aim of all this is to rid oneself of ajnaana. Once that has been done, one has Jnana - and that Jnana is 'Aham Bramhasmi'.Sincerely,SaiOn Thu, Apr 9, 2009 at 12:50 AM, viji <vijivkn wrote:

Dear Sir,

Some thoughts in your feet -

1. Karma results in Jnaana (= knowledge, intellectual information)

2. Vijnaana (=wisdom, actions becoming one with knowledge) is the result by

grace of God.
