Guest guest
What is the real reason for chanting the Names of the Lord? What benefits will accrue to us when we chant the Names of the Lord? You must realize that bhajan, namasmaran and puja (chanting the Name and worshipping God) are not for pleasing or making God happy, but for our own spiritual progress. Frequently, people flatter the rich and the powerful - especially when they are in their employment or are beholden to them for some precious help - in order to induce them to shower gifts on them. But God does not shower Grace on people because they sing His praises. Nor does He come down upon them because they do not worship Him. Recitation of the Divine attributes only enable us to dwell on elevating ideals and approximate ourselves more and more to the Divinity that is our true nature. -Divine Discourse, March 7, 1978. Guest guest
OM NAMA SIVAYA There is no material is expressing the idea or asking what will be the benefit for us, or what is the real reason for chanting the names of Lord. this is purely a business relation. Lord is not there for sale. Nor there for any business, nor there for any bargain Devotion is not like which involves a business relation. There is nothing and none there to sell anything. But from the postings it gives a feeling that buyers are more even though there is nothing as an object to buy. This is not like that an insurance agent comes to you and asks for taking a policy. In devotion, to start moving towards the brahma, to think of His holiness, to think of His supremeness, have the feeling of blissfulness, drink the nectar of amrut, no body is compelling anybody. So the question, the doubt, the idea of 'what is the benefit ..... ' does not arise. Let us be very pure from heart and serve the Lord with our bhakti. best wishes to all viji vkn --- On Mon, 13/4/09, Kishore Puvvada <pkishore wrote: Kishore Puvvada <pkishore What is the real reason for chanting the Names of the Lord?
