Punyahavachanam is nothing but blessing words by brahmins and is performed for cleansing the place

After child birth on the tenth day LORD VARUNA is invoked in a KUMBHAM(KUDAM)(POT) filled with

water and fixing Mango leaves , CoConut on top with some cardamom put inside water with cloves,

and the recitation of PAVAMANA SOOKTHAM is also done if VEDA ABHYASAM has been learnt and this

water is sprinkled all over and a little bit is swallowed in side too by one and all. Similalry after the

passing away of a family member this is done on tenthe day and repeated again on thirteenth day etc.

Some  very very orthodox people get it done from outside and bring the water to be sprinkled all over the house even on all the clothes etc inside almirahs.

Even in daily puja we do kalasa sthabhan and invite ganga yamuna narmada sindhu kaveri to be

present in the kalasa theertham and this water is sprinkled all over.

 

So it is PAVMANA SOOKTHAM recited and called PUNYAHAVACHAM.

 If any veda recital CDs are sold by various people/traders like GIRI TRADING COMPANY etc

look whether it contains this SOOKTHAM.

If you want to learn how to do it yourself then you cant do it except in simplified form

and not with veda recitals as it needs the services of a VEDA Pundit.

 

If you want a too simplified ladies version I can send what i culled out myself to be sent to

a friend in USA!!!! But that as I said is only purifying the place for ordinary events at home.

I was told by  all elders that Punyavachanam is very important to perform before starting an auspicious functions.Can Anyone provide me Punyavachanam in telugu both document and Mp3 or atleast can one tell me from where I can get .
