namo narayana

I was reading the posts on karma and how all the jeevas are entrapped in this endless cycle of life and death only due to their karma. It may seem that the laws of karma are the ultimate, however there is a powerful technique to overcome this law of karma, which is said to be infallible and that is "Prapatti" or Sharaangathi to Lord Sriman Narayana.

A jeeva can very well attain moksha in Sri Vaikuntham by simply sincerely and whole hearted surrendering himself to the absolute Lord Sriman Narayana.

Prapatti is said to be infallible, because the Lord Himself states it in His Gita, to "give up all other endeavors and just surrender to Him and He Himself will take care of us".

Furthermore He makes Arjuna to proclaim, that His devotee will never perish in the pursuit of Brahman.

Hence Sharangathi gives a wonderful, very easy way to all the vigorous and very difficult sadhanas of jnana yoga, raja yoga, mantra siddhis etc which normal people with their family and material responsibilities in this present Kali yuga will find it almost impossible to practice.

Just by WHOLEHEARTED surrender and practicing devotion in whatever occupation you are in, and by having the maha-vishvaasam that in the end Sriman Narayana will grant you liberation will not only free yourself from this saamsara but will also make your and your family's life in this material world very peaceful and sacred.

It is perhaps the "latent ego" of people to distrust God's own commitment in saving His own devotees that they do not perform sharangathi and undergo various other practices which are so filled with dangers and uncertainties.

God is more interested in freeing us from this samsaara than ourselves, because all the jeevas are His property only, hence we must rust in His ability to free us, more than OUR ability to free ourselves from this samsaraa.

It is time to trust His words and sincerely surrender our hearts and most importantly our egos into serving His lotus feet and hoping that we all go to our eternal home in Sri Vaikuntham.

By simply chanting His names everyday, by simple devotional practice like daily puja, eating only prasadam, nonviolence in all aspects, observances like regular ekadasi vratham, reading gita, bhagavatam and living without pride/ego and material desires etc will surely and unfailing attract His attention to grant us His eternal service not only in this life but forever.

Why not use the easiest shortest and most pleasurable route to liberation which God Himself gave to help all His devotees in this Kali yuga?

Sincerely,

A few days ago an esteemed member, Mr Balasubramaniam elegantly described Kaivalya of Advaitic tradition. Herein I am bringing the SriVaishnava tradition for comparison.Let me introduce the terms first before we discuss them.Muc = to be free; Mukta = one who is liberated from cycle of birth and rebirth. Jivanmukta = living being who is freed. Corporeal liberation. Siva sect believes in this. Sri Vaihnavaites don't accept this.Videha mukti = liberation after death. Incorporeal liberation. Sri Vaishnava Tradition believes in this.mumukshu = One Longing for liberation from bondage.Kaivalya = Self-realization; A state in which the soul is freed from corporeal burden in Advaita tradition. It is NOT God-Realization; you are not at the Feet of Siva or Vishnu. Moksha or Mukti = liberation from fetters, bondage, avidya, metempsychosis.Vaishnava sect distinguishes between Self-Realization

(Kaivalya) and God-Realization, the latter is the true liberation or Moksha, a service at the feet of Vishnu (Paramapadam) . Jivamukta (Corporeal liberation-- liberation while alive in a body) is not accepted in Srivaishnavism, which asserts Jivanmukti is an oxymoron: either you are liberated or you are alive in a body; you can't have both: liberation and body simultaneously.Tenkalai SriVaishnavism says that kaivalya is liberation of the soul from rebirth; it is Self-Realization. The Vadakalais say that true liberation is God-realization meaning you serve at the feet of Vishnu for ever. God-Realization is superior to Self-Realization (Kaivalya). With Kaivalya you see God through a Glass Ceiling but never get to serve Him in person. Simply put what do you like to do: do you want to see the movie or hang around in the parking lot? Do you want to gain entry into your house or hang around the compound wall? That is the question

posed by the Srivainsvite Vadakalais to the rest of the world.Jnana Yoga is not generally recommended for salvation in Srivaishnavism; it leads to enlightenment and bliss of the soul. and freedom from metempsychosis. All this amounts to Kaivalyam and not God-realization. Kaivalyam is Atma-anubhavam and NOT Bhagavat-saksatkara . Atma Anubhavam is the realization of the knowledge of one's own soul and not God realization. It is knowing oneself and NOT the God. Kaivalyam guarantees complete release from mundane existence and thus lets the individual soul enjoy its true nature. Kaivalyam is not enjoying the Universal Soul (Bhagavan). The true Moksa is to serve God without any interruption in Vaikuntam or Parmapadam. Real Moksa is simply not a state of negation (which is Kailvalyam ), absence of bondage. Real Moksa has a positive aspect to it in that one gets close to Bhagavan, gets touched

by Bhagavan, and perform interminable eternal service (Nitya-kaiá¹…karya) to Bhagavan. In modern parlance, the Moksa Purusa has earned his tenure and no one can fire him from Vaikuntam. There is no mention in Divyaprabhandam that these liberated Kaivalya souls take the ArcirÄdi path to Vaikuntam. (see the chart elsewhere.) Arciradi path is the Empyreal Highway to Paramapadam or Vaikuntam.I open this subject in the forum for discussion.Veeraswamy Krishnarajwww.bhagavadgitausa .comclick on 'vadakalai and tenkalai.

Hari OMThe scriptures proclaim that there is no birth for one who has realized the Self as his own self and the self of all. All sins, vasanas and karmas of such a person get wiped out automatically. No doubt, ,by resorting to constant namasmaranam, and single-pointed devotion( ananya Bhakti), coupled with surrender ,

one can reach Parama Padam. Unqualified and total surrender to the Lord has been highlighted in Gita. Observance of disciplines like fasting and various other devotional practises per se may not render one eligible for Bhagawad Prapti. One needs to attract the attention of Bhagawan through expurgation of Negative qualities (Asury Sampatti ) and cultivation of Divine qualities( Daivi Sampatti like Abhayam, Satvasamsuddhih etc. etc.) as enunciated by the Lord in verses 1 to 4of chapter 16 and Amanitwam, adambitwam etc. in verses 8 to 10 of chapter 13 of Gita.. These coupled with unconditional surrender to God will help in reaching our ultimate goal.G.BalasubramanianVeryytterium <veryytterium Sent: Monday, July 20, 2009 10:38:59 AM Power of Sharangathi
