Dear friends,

 

Ashtangahridaya satram is biannual programme of

Vagbhatasarni the ayurvedic wing of Svadeshi Science

Movement Kerala. The Ayurveda of Kerala is much

indebted to the monumental work of Acharya Vagbhata

Ashtanaghridaya. It is this treatise used as the main

text to teach and study Ayurveda for centuries

maintained the strength of ayurveda in Kerala.

Imitating the Western Medicine, the present day formal

study neglects the text oriented study. It is to

compensate this, Vagbhatasarani organizes

Ashtangahridaya satram, a seven day academic venture

that goes through the text in a critical way.

 

This year’s satram( third satram) organized at

Thiruvalla Pathanamthitta Dist. Kerala during Oct.

21-28 highlights sutrastana. The classes are on select

chapters of sutrastana. Other high lights are chanting

of the complete text with a briefing on each chapter.

The Gurumukham arranged in the evenings is an

interaction with vriddhavaidyas. There are yoga

classes every morning. Prakriti darsana yatra is on

25th Oct. One hour samskritasambhashana is also

arranged every day. The reg. fees Rs. 1750.00 for

doctors and Rs.1500.00 for students. Vegetarian food

accommodation and course materials will be provided.
