A highly ornately carved five high Vishnu image in black stone with 4

arms and two female figures on both sides was found by me while

excavating a tank in Chanchol in the district of Malda in 1972. It is

now kept in the Malda Museum, West Bengal, and has been dated to the

12th century AD. Its photograph can be seen in the photos section of

the Mahabharata study group.
