Guest guest
In actual terms India's contribution to non organic, rain failing, Global Green House Gasses - is almost NIL, compared to even erstwhile communist euro-domain India on the other hand contributes much to down regulate GW and also neutralise non organic green house gases(GHG) by the annual natural event of the long period monsoon. So does Malaysia, Indonesia and Sri Lanka. Green house gases are 2 broad types. Organic and Non organic. Organic green house gases come from anthracite, wood, leafs, funeral pyre.........bio-genic. They cause Rainfall in regional domains. Do not attain great heights. They do not fly intercontinental. Non Organic green house gases come from room Heating, Transport, Lighting. They retards and fail Cloud condensation mechanism. Always attain great heights. They fly across continents. Example = Europe may produce. Iran-Afghanistan-Pakistan-Punjabisthan-Rajasthan-Gujarat (in particular) and even Haryana & western UP + whole of south east Asian may have rain failure. db Ref - D.Bhattacharya, "IS GLOBAL WARMING BOGUS & ULTRA VIRES ?", National Conference on Scientific and Legal Challenges of Global Warming, Brahmanand Post Graduate College of Sc & Law, Kanpur, February 25 -26, 2008. ========================================= - venkata krishnan ; indiaarchaeology ; kishore patnaik Friday, October 17, 2008 9:28 PM Shore Temple may go under the sea- important news- Please read. CHENNAI: The historic Mamallapuram monuments, including the world famous shore temple, faces the threat of submersion as sea water level is continuously on the rise. Addressing a joint expert workshop on conservation organised by the Archaeological Survey of India and the Janssen Phasrmaceutica, Belgium here, Director of Environment, Government of Tamil Nadu, R Annamalai, said the issue of climate change poses a real threat to the conservation of the timeless monuments. The sea level has constantly risen in Mamallapuram too like elsewhere. "If the trend continued, the monuments which are rich reminders of our hoary cultural heritage may go under the sea by the end of this century," he said, adding that a monitoring committee on a permanent basis could help keep a watch on the sea level. Perhaps, creating an enclave or an island for the monuments may also help in conservation. THE STORY OF SUBMERGED TEMPLES : Mamallapuram, also known as Mahabalipuram was a VII century port city of the Pallava dynasty, 60 km south of Chennai. The Archaeological Survey of India maintains the monuments, including the shore temple, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many ancient structures of Mamallapuram like the shore temple are believed to have gone under the sea many centuries ago. Now, the anxiety is to try and protect at least the ones we have now. When the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) and the Scientific Exploration Society , UK , undertook undersea explorations at Mamallapuram in 2002, evidences of ancient ruins were found off the shore temple. Interestingly, this corroborated a popular opinion that the shore temple of Mamallapuram is the only unsubmerged one out of seven similar structures. Six temples were believed to have gone under the sea many centuries ago. NIO investigations revealed the presence of construction stone masonry, remains of walls, a big square rock cut, scattered square rectangular stone blocks and geological formations of rocks. Most of the structures were damaged and scattered in a vast area, providing substratum for barnacles, mussels and other sedentary organisms. The date for these ancient remains were given as 1500-1200 years before the present times (circa VI century AD) coinciding with the rule of the Pallava dynasty in the region. This study supported the view that the underwater remains could have been part of those submerged Pallava temples.
