Guest guest
Ones... Please... any brothers or sisters out there who might be able to help me with information on a diet that might help me with cirossis? I am suffering horrible kidney infection's and a multitude of other infections. There is no definate diet for cirossis, they just say " avoid alcohol " . I simply have no hunger for any food and am out of breath and weak. My liver numbers have gone down since Amma told me she would have " sankalpa " for me. I just wish I knew some direction to go dietary wise. I subsist on carrot/orange/ginger juice. Any advise ones? Just because I am suffering a wee bit now does not diminish how far I have come since meeting Amma. I have been sober since January 10th 2005, gave my ciggeretts to Amma November, '05 and quit eating meat too! All I contribute to my loving compassionate Satguru. I am looking forward to being healthy in Amma's grace. I am also looking forward to the adivse I get from the group. Thank you brothers & sisters! vaishnavi amarnath <anatol_zinc wrote: (extract from " What's Cooking " a free monthly eNewsletter from Dr Fuhrman, MD) (So many of Amma's devotees are having health problems; hope this helps some, at least a little. ~ Amarnath) Many people are still tied to the myth that a diet needs to include lots of animal products to ensure adequate amounts of protein and to be nutritionally sound. All foods are made up of macronutrients: fat, protein, and carbohydrate. Macronutrients contain calories; calories supply us with energy. If people are overweight it is from consuming more calories than their body needs. Changing the distribution of fat, protein, and carbohydrates does not matter as much as changing (reducing) the amount of macronutrients (calories) consumed. Protein deficiency is not a concern in the modern world. It is next to impossible to consume too little protein. The commercially promoted myth that high animal protein consumption is necessary for good health is something we urgently need to dispel if we want to halt the heart disease and cancer epidemic. Vegetables, grains, beans, nuts and seeds are all rich sources of protein. In fact, there is a benefit to obtaining the vast majority of your protein from plant foods. Increasing vegetable protein and decreasing animal protein, along the lines of my Eat To Live plan, dramatically reduces cholesterol. Plus, plant-based foods provide an abundance of antioxidants and other cancer and heart disease fighting nutrients, which are not found in animal products. So get the facts, there is plenty of protein in plant foods. Here is a list of some foods showing the protein content as a percent of calories. It might be surprising . . . Guest guest
--- Vaishnavi Fantuzzi <vaishnavifantuzzi Vaishnavi, The body can take a while to heal, especially if you have been using toxic substances for a long time. Amarnath would be a better person to address this as he has many more years of experience in this area. You might want to have a phone consulation with Dr. Fuhrman, you can also ask him questions on his website/membership forum. There is a wealth of information on his site www.drfuhrman.com and www.diseaseproof.com. The eating style (extremely simple, creative and pure) he promotes seems to be the foundation for healing and dealing with almost everything that ails you. First one must educate themselves and then put into practice all that has been learned. There is much support there from Dr. Furhman himself, as well as the other memebers who are dealing with almost everything under the sun, as far as the body is concerened. I hope you feel better, there is a way to healing and better health. S

Guest guest
Eat greens, cooked greens if your digestion is weak. Turmeric is good for infection, and the Ayurvedic remedy manjista is good for cleansing the blood, which will also help. I buy it powdered and put in caps. Watch the ginger, it can heat the body. So can raw garlic, but it might help with the infection. Some probiotics like acidophilus may also help restore balance. Don't neglect drinking lots of water. No cold food or frigid drinks. I suggest getting support from an acupuncturist or ayurveda person. fast healing to you Max >Please... any brothers or sisters out there who might be able to >help me with information on a diet that might help me with cirossis? >I am suffering horrible kidney infection's and a multitude of other >infections. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya. Dandelion is excellent for liver. Be sure it's organic. In the US i would have home grown dandelion every day. I would harvest the whole plant except for little root so it would grow back. Then rinse off dirt. Then put whole plant in boiling water. Take off heat, let sit for a few hours so essence comes into tea. Then take a little and maybe store in glass and have a little the next day. Caution, it is a diuretic, so you will make more trips to the bathroom. I learned this and much, much more from Susun Weed: www.amazon.com/*Healing*-Wi*s*e-Woman-Herbal/dp/0961462027 Other great resource for healing foods: John *Heinermann*, Ph.D. Author of " Heinerman's Encyclopedia of *Healing*Juices " May Amma's grace continue to flow to you, premarupa " Always remember that you are just an instrument in God's Hands. Have the attitude that your are not the doer but that God makes you do everything...It Is God's Power that carries us through everything. Remember that the body has the ability to regenerate itself if given a proper simple diet, rest, relaxation, some simple exercise, spiritual practices, and especially with Amma's Blessings. The dietary recommendations already given are very good. See what suits you and ask some more questions. Where you live might be a factor what foods are available to you? Where are you located? USA? India? I have similar suggestions: www.drfuhrman.com and for a basic understanding of Nutritional Healing, " Eat to Live " book and " The Greatest Diet on Earth " DVDs are excellent. For recommendations specific to your condition, a phone consultation with Dr Joel Fuhrman, MD would be good. Can you manage these financially? The Green Vegetables, somebody already mentioned, should be very good for you and here's a Vegetable Juice recommendation @ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://www.easyhomeremedy.com/home_remedy_for_Cirrhosis.html The juice of carrots, in combination with spinach juice, has been found beneficial in the treatment of cirrhosis of the liver. Spinach juice 200 ml, should be mixed with 300 ml of carrot juice to prepare 500 ml or half a litre of combined juices. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ But, with your kidney condition also, medical advice from a Nutritional Medical Doctor like Joel Fuhrman is advisable. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kidney infection (pyelonephritis) is a specific type of urinary tract infection (UTI) that generally begins in your urethra or bladder and travels up into your kidneys. If not treated properly, kidney infection can permanently damage your kidneys or spread to your bloodstream and cause a life-threatening infection. Prompt medical attention is required. Your urinary system is composed of your kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. All play a role in removing waste from your body. Your kidneys filter waste from your blood, adjust blood levels of many substances, and conserve or excrete water from your system depending on your body's needs. Tubes called ureters carry urine from your kidneys to the bladder, where it's stored until it exits your body through the urethra. Kidney infection usually begins when bacteria enter the urinary tract through the urethra and then start to multiply. Kidney infection can occur through your bloodstream, although this is rare. Antibiotics are the typical treatment for kidney infection. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya Vaishnavi, I'm so sorry to hear about your health problems. My alternative doctor told me that alpha lipoic acid has been known to cure hepatitis C, and I've read amazing things about it saving the lives of victims of liver failure due to mushroom poisoning. It may also help cirrhosis. I also agree you may want to see a good doctor who specializes in nutritional medicine. It's very good to take acidopholis and other flora when you are taking antibiotics. Wishing you the best. In Amma, Prasadini Ammachi , Vaishnavi Fantuzzi <vaishnavifantuzzi wrote: > > Amarnath... > Thank you so much for the informative help.
