I thought I'd share something I did over the xmas/ny's holidays for

myself and a gift for a friend.

 

Digital photo-keychains are down in price to $20 or less (check

online). There's plenty of photos online of Amma that can be used to

load one up, like I did.

 

The one I first got for a friend was at K-mart for $20, which I'm not

sure they carry anymore, but is cheaper online. It's by Coby and

it's the white/recent model of DP-151. Now, there have been problems

with them, which I'll mention here. The only problem with the white

one/DP-151 is that you have to really push the plug into the unit hard

for it to go all the way in. Sure, it'll charge the battery with it

half-way in, but the computer won't recognize it's connected and won't

even start the software for downloading/cropping. I discovered this

solution online after reading similar reviews.

 

When I went back to the store to get one for myself, there was only a

black one. The model is basically the same, but I think this was an

earlier version, DPKEY. There are 3 defects that I found with this

one: 1, the angle of LCD viewing is not straight-on as it should be,

but a little down to the right. 2, It makes a high pitched whine

when on. 3. The download cable it came with was useless/defective.

 

I'm not specifically endorsing this model, but only giving you my

experiences with it. I mean, it's sold for less than $20 online now

(shipping extra of course), and it's actually really cool. You can

choose automatic slideshow, with a clock showing or not, and the

battery charges through the USB cable to supposedly give 4 hours of

viewing. It's backlit, so you can view it with the lights off at

bedtime like I do. It holds 60 pics, all of which I downloaded from

various places online of Amma.
