#3 of the Gurus of the Avadhuta:

 

3. His third teacher was the sky. The all-pervading nature of the sky

brought to his mind the all-pervasiveness of the Self, which is

subtler than even space. Sometimes the sky appears to be colored by

the sun's light and the various light and dark clouds, but it is only

an illusion as in reality the sky remains untouched by all this. So

too, the Self appears to be affected by all the modifications of the

mind, but in reality it is pure and taintless.
