Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya All, It's funny how how things turn out sometimes. As some of you may recall, we have been trying to organize a screening of " Darshan: the Embrace " at our local community cinema since the award-winning film was released. We have finally done it! But in an odd twist, the purpose of the screening has changed. The staff of Sixth Street Cinema has organized this evening to help this child of Amma. It seems that about a year ago, the universe decided to enroll me in a crash-course of " You Are Not the Body. " I was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) last Spring. I now spend most of the time in a wheelchair. Sixth Street Cinema is hosting a screening of Darshan on Thursday, Jan. 22nd at 7:30 PM as a benefit to help with the costs of alternative treatment solutions because conventional Western medicine has no treatment or cure. We are also working on trying to come with a cheap, used van we can use to get me around. Admission is by donation. Make a weekend out of it and visit the winter wonderland of Yosemite about an hour away and see a great movie about our beloved Amma or just come for the film. Mariposa is about 2 1/2 hrs. from M. A. Center. Devotees in the area can offer a limited number of beds, couches, floor space, or even spots to camp. I am pretty sure a special rate at our local Comfort Inn, which is a short walk from the theater) will be available (waiting for a callback). visit sixthstreetcinema.org for more info.
