She was here on a two-day visit to take part in the anniversary celebrations of the temple. Cutting across barriers of religion, community and class, people waited in long queues to have Mata’s darshan. Relevance of spirituality was only when we live in the world, she told her devotees. Whatever you could not achieve when you live here could not be achieved after death, she reminded them. She asked the devotees who came to listen to her to face problems in life with courage and confidence in God. She said that the people were running madly after comforts and material gains like a person running within a running train. “But you should understand that there are many things beyond your control. Tension and restlessness will not take you to the goal. The only way to live peacefully is to have patience and sympathy to others,†she said. She pointed out that happiness and peace are to be attained from within by submitting oneself to the God. “Try to share pain of fellow beings. Only the hungry will know the pain of hunger.†Mata said that harmony with nature, society and God is essential for peace of mind. She advised her devotees against aping the culture, tradition and habits of the developed counties. Many programmes such as bhajan, meditation, darsan and pujas, were organised in connection with Mata’s visit.
