Guest guest
In the last year and a half since recieving AMMAs blessing to travel to bring 7 Lakota from the reservation to California to train and become certified Eco-dome builders, i myself have traveled to Pine Ridge about ten times. Not just that ,i also spent an entire summer with the family we are helping.45 people accompanied me as we all worked side by side building a Eco-dome home. There are hundred's of pictures and video footage for those who care to see on the website. It is my beloved AMMA that inspired my heart to want to be this close to the people that SHE would bless me to serve. i have myself experienced the very brutal winters of Pine Ridge that you all are reading about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkjUaCMDv_A i have copied the video of my first visit to Pine Ridge ,Christmas 2008.you will see me on the video with a white scarf around my head hugging my Lakota Granmother Lorraine white face eagle elk. I have also recieved the blessings from Cheif American Horse. Not just that i have recieved the blessings from Cheif Arvol Looking Horse who is the 19th generation Sacred Pipe and Bundle carrier passed down from White Buffalo Calf women(AMMA) .You can see Him in a picture with us on www.naturescompassion.com If you would like to see us building with the native family summer 2009,please watch this video. They say that pictures say 1,000 words,so here they are. The propane thing is only a quick fix solution.it is only like putting a bandade on the problem, but we must do that. We are looking into other alternative's like Geo-thermal heating, wood stoves etc. for the propane company's are charging much to much money considering the financial condition's of the people. I am working with the Sustainable Living genious Lakota brother Brianne deans in coming up with heating affordable heating solutions. We will be installing the first wind turbine for a orphan family living below the poverty line in the history of any reservation. We already have the turbine and this will delete the electric bill for this family! Did you know that the electric bill company's on the reservation charge more then any place in the country? Therefore we will transcend that with WIND ENERGY! this is much bigger then sending propane.that is only the bandade! AMMA has blessed us to begin pioneering a much deeper solution. My Guru goes to the core of every problem... that is inside of us and outside of us.We hope to be able to sponsor 10 family's such as this in the near future.AMMAs grace alone will see us to this goal.In this my faith is perfect! Aum Namah Shivaya, There is some apparent misunderstanding of the plight of the Native Americans is clearly lacking in real information or facts. The majority of Americans who are poor are the working poor who work more then 2 jobs and make minimum wage. Many are young families where the parents are quite young. A larger percentage are in the Deep South and of course the reservations and Appalachia. The reservations cannot get any government funding so their plight is even worst. There are also many students who cannot get medical care due to age and go without treatment. Many students cannot get covered on health insurance and therefore are suffering as well. The other majority are seniors and children. Seniors who worked their whole lives and cannot earn enough on SSI to make ends meet or who have medical bills that are larger than what is provided to them. They have this " donut hole " that forces them to pay out of pocket with money they do not usually have. Seniors often have to choose between food and medicine. Children and seniors make up the largest proportion of the poor in America. If you want to donate to the Native Americans- this charity is rated 95% and I send them lots of clothing, etc. They help take food and clothing to 5 reservations of which Pine Ridge is comprised.I'm so excited I just received their letter and apparently my clothing and toys reached them before Christmas! http://www.naha-inc.org/naha_program_voucher.html If you donate clothing, send it to NAHA, 12085 Quaal Rd, Black Hawk, SD 57718. Native Americans are proud and do not ask for much. But when people cannot find jobs-not due to their own fault, it's pretty blindsided to make a sweeping judgement that everyone is just looking for a handout. When we have homeless in America because they lost their homes and jobs, again, it's shameless to blame them. The plight in the U.S. is currently not very good with over 10% unemployment. Very few people scam welfare. The majority are disabled, elderly, ill or poor. You will find that most people in these situations want to work. I have worked with the poor and people feel badly that they cannot make ends meet. They want jobs, they want to provide for their families. But if they cannot find a job, blaming them is pretty coldhearted and shameless. Here in our city there are tent cities on the riverfront of homeless with children. Many are also living in abandoned buildings. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poverty_in_the_United_States 13 to 17% of America is living in poverty now at any given time. Ignorance is not bliss. in Amma, Adriane Ammachi , " bluepearllight " <bluepearllight wrote: > > Spontaneous giving would be posting a single message with a link to the story. Temba needs to learn many things, being a neophyte sevite. For starters, people suffer. He should also be sure that the rez isn't what Amma used to call " backwards tribal villages " , no pun intended. That is, it's not enough to give food and shelter if they're so ignorant to perpetuate their suffering. If things are not being used wisely or maintained (a common problem with people who 'think' they're poor) then service becomes a bottomless money pit. > > There's plenty of stories in the books when visitors to the ashram would break the rules and beg from the ashramites, especially to westerners. Amma would scold them saying not to give or give the money to the office and they'll make sure someone asking for funds actually needs it. In one case she mentioned the bad karma if that person used the money for bad things like a drug addiction. > > I've known people who wouldn't put diapers on their baby or food in the fridge for their kids because they were saving money for something. It may not happen in white-collar big-house America, but it's out there. > > Multiple postings............. > > Ammachi , Max Dashu <maxdashu@> wrote: > > > > Bonafide Amma charities do not rule out spontaneous giving in cases > > of natural disaster.
