Guest guest
Linda, I think you answered your own question. I feel you're doing fine. What can we do? According to our circumstances we can only do our best. Remember, Amma has millions of devotees, many of which are young and/or healthy enough to do something more. Others are older and perhaps with health issues, etc. Amma also has said that if we can take care of ourselves first, even that is a good contribution; for some of us getting older, having been on spiritual journey for perhaps 4 decades, the need just to maintain our health and functionality can be challenging. Amma does recommend sometimes to see doctors or alternative practitioners. And, many of Amma's devotees are alternative practitioners; see Immortal Bliss ads for vortex healing, Aniruddhan Divine Diamond, etc etc; then there is http://www.radiancehealing.net/ right from Amritapuri and Amma's pujas @ http://www.amritapuja.org/ . That is why I don't hesitate to post some of the healing options, which seem good and especially those for free, that are becoming more and more available. My feeling is that Amma wants us to do what we can to stay healthy while we continue to hold on to Amma's Love and see Amma in everyone. Remember also that Amma's teachings are not dogmatic. Concerning spiritual practices, Amma says, " One way for all is dangerous! " And even for young and healthy, Amma sometimes says that FIRST do some meditation or live at ashram with Amma to become strong enough AND THEN go out into the world to serve. For me at age 70, perhaps this is something to keep in mind in preparation for my next life. Meanwhile I try my best. Oh, there was an Amma article someplace saying that marriage is an excellent environment to learn not to get angry, not to be selfish, etc etc. And we can always feel the suffering of the world and pray for others, which is also a great seva all by itself. I once knew about three Catholic sisters( not nuns ) who devoted their whole life just praying for others and the whole world; no doubt, without their prayers the world would be in even a sadder situation. Well, that's my POV. No doubt others, each one of us has their own POV which is very fine because that is what is. Have to go and drink a greens and fruit smoothie that my wife just made.
